Evasion. If Black Bell is subjected to an effect that allows her to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, she instead takes no damage if she succeeds on the saving throw and only half damage if she fails, provided Black Bell isn’t incapacitated.

Slippers of Spider Climbing. Black Bell can move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving her hands free. she has a climbing speed equal to her walking speed. However, the slippers don't allow her to move this way on a slippery surface, such as one covered by ice or oil.

Spellcasting. Black Bell is a 4th-level spellcaster. Her spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks). She has the following Druid spells prepared:

Cantrip: Thorn Whip, Guidance, Druidcraft

1st level (4 slots): Charm Person, Cure Wounds, Disguise Self, Hex, Speak with Animals

2nd level (3 slots): Locate Animals or Plants, Pass without Trace, Wither and Bloom

Actions

Multiattack. Black Bell makes three Dagger attacks.

Dagger. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 5) Slashing damage plus 5 (1d10) poison damage.

Wild Shape. As an action, Black Bell  can magically assume the shape of a beast that she has seen before twice per short rest.  The beast must have an equal CR rating or less.

Bonus Actions

Cunning Action. Black Bell takes the Dash, Disengage, or Hide action.

Defile Ground. Once per short rest, Black Bell can use a bonus action to corrupt a patch of land or an area of water in a 10-ft. radius centered on a point within 60 ft. of her. This corruption lasts for 1 minute. The corrupted area is difficult terrain for creatures that are hostile to her. Additionally, when a creature in the area takes damage from an attack or spell for the first time on a turn, it takes an extra 1d4 necrotic damage. Flying creatures are unaffected by the corruption.

Defile Ground: Move Corruption. Black Bell can move the patch of corruption from her Defile Ground feature up to 30 ft.

Insightful Fighting. As a bonus action, Black Bell can make an Insight check against a creature she can see that isn’t incapacitated, contested by the target’s Deception check. If she succeeds, she can use her Sneak Attack against that target even if she doesn’t have advantage on the attack roll, but not if she has disadvantage on it for 1 minute or until she uses this feature against a different target.

Reactions

Uncanny Dodge. Black Bell halves the damage that she takes from an attack that hits her. she must be able to see the attacker.

Description

Kidnapped as a child and cursed into a Hexblood, Black Bell unwillingly finds herself in service to a Hag Coven. The coven raised Black Bell with the hopes that she could act as an agent for the group or become a replacement for one of the coven members should any of them parish. Bound to the coven, Black Bell carries out their commands, but will on occasion attempt to kill one of the hags. She fails every time unfortunately. Black bell will always try and flee a situation that places her in mortal danger, even if it means disobeying an order or failing to complete a task given by the coven. Black Bell will even go so far as  to make deals with adventures to slay the hags controlling her.

Black Bell Adventures

Black Bell can be used effectively as an ally for a Party or a lesser antagonist for an adventure. Her connections to hags could lead the adventure into cursed forests, shady swamps or into the fey wild itself.

Connected Creatures

Black Bell will almost always have have a connection to some form of hag. But the Coven can be made up of any type depending on the adventure and the parties level
