Stick. To perform this ability, the Amooze targets one creature no bigger than large and needs to breathe it can come in contact with. The afflicted creature must succeed on a DC15 Dexterity saving throw or be stuck to the Amooze. While stuck, the Amooze cannot be harmed directly, and it will begin to envelop the creature it is attached to. After every other turn, the creature can take a DC20 Strength saving throw to detach from the Amooze. The Amooze completely envelopes the creature in 1d4 minutes, and the creature begins to suffocate. Once the creature dies, it digests its body and leaves only bones and equipment behind. It will then inherit its Strength, Constitution, Wisdom (If higher), Intelligence (If higher), and Charisma (If higher). It will also inherit any Actions, Abilities, Bonus Actions, Reactions, Spellcasting, Special Traits, Size, Languages, and Max Hit Points (If higher). It will not inherit its Alignment, Memories, Armor Class, Resistances, and Legendary Traits/Lair Actions. The Amooze has to wait a month before it can use its ability again. If its host dies, the Amooze also dies.
Description
All who travel through the Underdark, as well as any depths of the Material Echoes, should fear the Amooze. They appear at first like ordinary blobs, but they can quickly grow to tremendous power, as well as being vile at heart.
Dark Origins
The origin of Amoozes is shrouded in mystery. Some say they are the direct spawn of evil slime beings, meant to serve and act as spies. Some say they were ordinary oozes granted evil intellgence from arcane experiments. The most widely accepted theory is that they originated from the depths of the Shadowfell, before spreading to the Underdark and Feydark.
Fear the Creep
Amoozes can skulk near silently, and terrain is not much of a hamper for their goal. They sneak up, and then suffocate their prey, amassing their bodies and knowledge. Trying to take one off is a losing battle. Amoozes less imitate the things they consume, but rather exploit to their best potential.
Ooze Organizations
Amoozes are remarkably social for oozes, and often form entire Underdark nations. While they cannot commune with other oozes, they often gather and place slimes all over their forts as traps and servants. Amoozes rein atop in wicked monarchies, where the biggest and most amassed slime rules.
