Dark Devotion. The cultist leader cannot be charmed or frightened.
Devil's Sight. Magical darkness doesn't impede the cult leaders darkvision
Grandfather's Blessing. The cultist has offered their devotion to Grandfather Nurgle which gives them the following benefits. They resist acid damage and are immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition. They are also immune to disease. The stronger blessing that the cult leader has received has also made him immune to being stunned and paralyzed.
Cult Leader. The effect of the cult leaders blessing is extended to every cultist within 60 ft. that can see and hear their leader.
Cloud of Flies. A buzzing cloud of flies surrounds Abelard wherever he goes. Any attacks targeting Abelard have disadvantage.
Regeneration. The blessings of Nurgle grant the cult leader with an almost unnatural healing speed. They regenerate 5 hitpoints at the start of each turn. If the cult leader has taken radiant damage the trait doesn't function at the start of its next turn. The cult leader dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.
Multi Attack. The cultist herald can use his flail or plaguecaster and his debilitating presence.
Flail. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 2) bludgeoning damage.
Debilitating Presence. Every creature within 60 ft. that can hear or see the cult leader must succeed on a DC 16 CON save or suffer the effects of bane until the end of their next turn.
Stink cloud (Recharge 6). The Cult leader releases poisonous gasses from his body. This resembles the Stinking Cloud spell except that the cult leader does not need to maintain concentration. The spell save is a DC 16 CON save.
Plaguecaster. The cultist herald casts one of the following spells, requiring no spell components and using constitution as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 16):
Inflict Wounds or Ray of Sickness at will.
1/day each: Acid Arrow, Blindness/Deafness, Ray of Enfeeblement, Wither and Bloom
Obnoxious interference (Recharge 5–6). As a reaction Abelard can use his Cloud of Flies to automatically succeed on a dexterity saving throw against a magical effect. If this causes the spell to do half damage, Abelard takes no damage. However, using this ability will cause the Cloud of Flies ability to be unavailable untill it has recharged.
Description
Abelard was the old abbot from the Jahima Monastery dedicated to Njoor and Skaad. But after the death of his mistress he lost himself in despair. Turning to Nurgle who offered to return the deceased to him a cult started to form around him in the Monastery. Over time Nurgle used the Monastery as a breeding ground for a new plague that became known as Roses' Pollen.
