Magic Resistance. The baby phoenix has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Limited Telepathy. The baby phoenix can magically communicate simple ideas, emotions, and images telepathically with any creature within 100 feet of it that can understand a language.
Fire to Ash. When the baby phoenix dies, a Phoenix Egg appears in the space the baby phoenix previously occupied. If the baby phoenix was in flight, the Phoenix Egg ignores any damage resulting from the fall.
Magic Weapons. The baby phoenix's weapons attacks are considered magical.
Familiar. The baby phoenix can serve another creature as a familiar, forming a magic, telepathic bond with that willing companion. While the two are bonded, the companion can sense what the baby phoenix senses as long as they are within 1 mile of each other. At any time and for any reason, the baby phoenix can end its service as a familiar, ending the telepathic bond.
Talons. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 slashing damage plus 3 (1d6) fire damage.
Fire Ray. Ranged Spell Attack: +5 to hit, range 15 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d8) fire damage.
Protective Shroud. The baby phoenix can choose a willing creature within 5 feet of it and shroud the target with a protective aura for 1 minute. While shrouded, the creature shares its Magic Resistance trait as long as it is within 5 ft. of the baby phoenix. The baby phoenix can take no other action while shrouding or the effect ends. The baby phoenix regains the ability to use this feature after a short or long rest. Unless otherwise specified, the baby phoenix will always try to shroud its bonded creature as the first action during combat.
Illumination. The baby phoenix sheds bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. The effect lasts for an hour unless the baby canceled using a bonus action or dispelled.
New Life. When a creature bonded to the baby phoenix that the baby phoenix can see has its hit points drop to 0 or dies, the baby phoenix can make a DC 10 Charisma check. If it is successful, the baby phoenix can transfer all of its remaining hit points to the fallen creature, or if the creature has died, bring it back to 0 hp. The baby phoenix turns into a Phoenix Egg after using this feature.
