Traits

Indomitable Might (1/day). Argax can use his Strength score in place of Wisdom, Intelligence, or Charisma for saving throws.

Reckless Attack. When Argax makes his first attack on his turn, he can decide to attack recklessly, giving him advantage on melee weapon attack rolls using STR during this turn, but attack rolls against him have advantage until his next turn.

Relentless Rage. If Argax drops to 0 hit points while he is raging and doesn’t die, he can make a DC 10 CON saving throw. If he succeeds, he drops to 1 hit point instead. The DC increases by 5 each time he uses this after the first.

Unnatural Strength. Argax has advantage on Strength ability checks and saving throws.

Actions

Multiattack. Argax makes three attacks,  only one of which can be a bite attack.

Blood Spear. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d8+12) slashing damage. If Argax reduces a target to 0 hit points with this attack, he gains 14 (4d6) temporary hit points.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 17 (2d6 + 10) slashing damage. Instead of dealing damage, Argax can grapple the target (escape DC 19).

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one willing creature, or a creature that is grappled by Argax incapacitated, or restrained. Hit: 19 (2d8 + 10) piercing damage.  Argax regains hit points equal to half the damage taken.

Breath Weapon (Recharge 6). Argax exhales destructive energy in a 20 foot cone. Each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or  take 35 (10d6) poison damage be poisoned. On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and isn't poisoned. A creature can repeat the save at the end of each of its turns, ending the poison on a success.

Reactions

Tail Swipe. If a creature Argax can see within 10 feet of him hits him with a melee attack roll, he can use his reaction to swipe his tail and add 4 (1d8) to his armor class. If that attack misses, he can make a melee attack roll back, with +11 to hit and 15 (2d8+6) bludgeoning damage on a hit
