Hive Mind. The Blighted Rex shares a hive mentality with other Blighted creatures, allowing them to coordinate attacks. If one Blighted creature is aware of a hostile creature, all others in the hive mind are also aware.
Blighted Scourge. Natural weapon attacks by the Blighted Rex can infect creatures with the Blighted Scourge. A creature hit by the Rex’s attack must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or contract the Blighted Scourge.
Blighted Roar (Recharge 5-6). The Blighted Rex unleashes a terrifying roar infused with blighted energy. Each creature within 30 feet of the Rex that can hear it must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. A creature frightened in this way can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Creatures that succeed on the saving throw are instead weakened, dealing half damage on their next attack or spell before the end of their next turn.
Multiattack. The Blighted Rex makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its tail. It cannot make both attacks against the same target.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 33 (4d12 + 7) piercing damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 17). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the Blighted Rex cannot bite another target.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (3d8 + 7) bludgeoning damage.
Description
The Blighted Rex is a monstrous, corrupted version of the prehistoric predator, its body twisted by the Blighted Scourge. Its massive frame is covered in darkened, cracked scales, pulsing with eerie veins of Blighted energy. Its glowing, hollow eyes reveal its connection to the Hivemind, making it an extension of the greater Blighted will.
