Consuming Fear. Once each turn, Ygra deals an extra 18 (4d8) necrotic damage with its bite or claw attacks to a creature frightened by it.
Dread. Any creature other than an elemental that starts its turn within 100 feet of Ygra must succeed on a DC 19 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of Ygra until the start of its next turn. Creatures immune to being frightened can be frightened by Ygra. Instead, those creatures have advantage on the saving throw against being frightened by it.
Keen Hearing and Smell. Ygra has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Pounce. If Ygra moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, Ygra can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.
Salter of Fields. Ygra is the physical manifestation of the season of salt. All organic matter, including creatures, plants, even structures, that begin their turn within 15 ft. of Ygra must succeed a DC 17 Constitution saving throw or begin to turn into salt. Plants and organic material other than creatures automatically fail this saving throw and subsequent saves.
On a failed save, it is restrained as its flesh begins to harden. On a successful save, the creature isn't affected.
A creature restrained by this ability must make another Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns. If it successfully saves against this ability three times, the spell ends. If it fails its saves three times, it is turned to salt and subjected to the petrified condition for the duration. The successes and failures don't need to be consecutive; keep track of both until the creature collects three of a kind.
Multiattack. Ygra makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +15 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d10 + 8) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) necrotic damage. If this damage reduces a creature to 0 hit points, the creature's body turns to salt, and Ygra consumes it. The creature's body and soul are permanently destroyed.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +15 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d6 + 8) slashing damage.
Ygra can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Ygra regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Claw. Ygra makes one claw attack.
Devour (Costs 2 Actions). Ygra devours a salt pillar within 5 feet of it. If that pillar used to be a creature, its body and soul are permanently destroyed. Ygra regains 20 hit points.
Visage of Terror (Costs 3 Actions). Each creature within 60 feet of Ygra must make a DC 19 Wisdom saving throw, taking 15 (2d10 + 4) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Description
To the animalfolk of Bloomburrow, Ygra is enormous, the elemental cat's giant body treading the ground and causing terror around it. Ygra is a giant cougar with green-glowing stripes, its muzzle marked by an unhallow light and numerous deadly teeth, and its eyes shimmer with an ominous gleam. Ygra is not only the herald of death, it is the literal manifestation of it. Wherever Ygra stalks, life crumbles immediately in its wake, turning into pillars of salt.
“Ygra is ever hungry. We call its coming the Season of Salt, when our fields and friends are transfigured into salt pillars. As Ygra devours, it is left hungry still, mouth dry and blistered. No creature, not even a Calamity, can survive on salt alone. It would almost be pitiable if the source of its suffering wasn't the home I have come to love and strove to protect." —Baylen, the haymaker
