Trampling Charge. If the gorgon moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a gore attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the gorgon can make one attack with its hooves against it as a bonus action.
Mana Surge. The Archen Gorgon infuses its body with mana. This effect activates passively when the Archen Gorgon reaches half its maximum hit points. While active, the Archen Gorgon deals an extra d6 force damage with its attacks, uses its Mana Breath once without the need to recharge, and can act twice for the rest of the fight.
Archen Crystal. Within the Archen Gorgon's mouth is a crystallized piece of mana which powers its attacks. The Archen Gorgon's mouth is closed to defend its mouth, but there are weakened plates that can be noticed with a passive perception of 14 or higher. An Arcana check (DC 13) also reveals this. Attempting to open the mouth by attacking the plates requires a DC 15 check, depending on the attack used. If the mouth is fully open, the next turn it closes.
Gore. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d12 + 5) piercing damage.
Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 5) bludgeoning damage.
Mana Breath (Recharge 5–6). The Archen Gorgon exhales supercharged mana in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or suffer 3d6 force damage and become stunned at the end of its next turn. A target affected by this attack suffers 2d4 damage at the start of their turn, and can repeat the saving throw to become free. This effect lasts for two rounds, but can end early when the target is hit by any magical attack.
Lair and Lair Actions
Causing a rampage within the Ivory Tavern, the Archon Gorgon is reckless and attempts to attack anything in sight.
Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 and initiative count 10, both losing initiative ties, one of the following effects can occur. The same effect cannot happen subsequently:
- Heavy Throw. The Archon Gorgon impales an adventurer, before attempting to throw it to another creature. A creature targeted by this attack must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw. On a success, the creature leaps out of the way, but anything behind it is hit instead.
- Debris Toss. The Archon Gorgon digs its hooves into the ground and kicks in the direction of a creature within a 30 ft. cone. A creature targeted by this attack must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or suffer 5d6 bludgeoning damage and fall prone. On a success, the creature takes half as much damage.
- Reckless Adventury. A nearby adventurer gets too reckless attempting to wrestle the bull and falls on a creature. The creature must make a DC 16 Strength saving throw or fall prone, suffering 2d8 bludgeoning damage.
- Stray Magic. A stray Fire Bolt target a creature. The creature must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or suffer 2d6 fire damage.
