Weeping Motion. When the Weeping Hound is not being observed (even by a single creature), it can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space it can see. If a creature has its gaze on the Weeping Hound, the hound becomes petrified and cannot move, though it can still defend itself and take actions.
Petrifying Bite. If the Weeping Hound bites a creature and deals damage, the target must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or begin turning to stone. On a failed save, the creature is restrained. The restrained target must repeat the saving throw at the end of its next turn, becoming petrified for 1 minute on a failure. On a success, the effect ends.
Angel's Wings. The Weeping Hound’s stone wings allow it to fly despite its weight. It has advantage on saving throws against being knocked prone or having its flight interrupted.
Magical Resistance. The Weeping Hound has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Multiattack. The Weeping Hound makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 20 (3d8 + 6) piercing damage plus 14 (4d6) necrotic damage. If the target is a creature, it must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or suffer the Petrifying Bite trait.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 18 (3d6 + 6) slashing damage.
Howl of Despair (Recharge 5-6). The Weeping Hound emits an otherworldly howl. All creatures within 60 feet of the Hound that can hear it must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
The Weeping Hound can take 2 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time, and it can only be taken at the end of another creature's turn. The Weeping Hound regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
- Teleport. The Weeping Hound can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space it can see.
- Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions). The Weeping Hound beats its wings. Each creature within 10 feet of it must succeed on a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw or take 13 (2d6 + 6) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone.
