Description
A monstrous mix between a giant beaver and a brown bear. It uses its powerful teeth to cut down trees for its wooden dam where the Bearver resides. Its often eats fish, bee hives, and even people. It also is known for blocking rivers which could cause it to be a threat to other natural environments or towns that rely on the river. If fought in its dam it gains a significant advantage causing weaker groups to struggle (Balanced to be cr3 out of dam, is far stronger inside.)
Lair and Lair Actions
Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the Bearver takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the Beaver can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row and if it cannot use any lair actions without violating this rule its lair action is skipped:
- One creature the Bearver chooses that is not airborne and is inside the dam is standing on unstable wood, they must make a dc 13 dexterity saving through or become restrained as they fall into the branches. They can make a dc 13 acrobatics or athletics check to escape as an action. They may also break the branches
- If the dam has taken damage: Water floods into the dam causing the inside of the dam to be difficult terrain for any creatures without a swim speed. At the end of the turn the water drains out the bottom of the dam.
- If the Bearver is on less then half health: the Bearver throws up a bee hive it swallowed previously. Spawning a swarm of insects (wasps) that are hostile to both the Bearver and the party.
