Loot Drop: Draconic Core Residue
When the Behemoth Bacterium dies, it leaves behind a small, glowing chunk of material known as Draconic Core Residue. This residue can be used by spellcasters as a component for spells involving necrotic energy or poison, granting a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls for the next 3 necrotic or poison spells cast. Alternatively, it can be sold to alchemists for 100 gp.
Melee Attack: Acidic Slam.
Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 10 (2d6+2) acid damage. If the target is wearing non-magical armor, it takes a permanent -1 penalty to AC as the armor corrodes. Armor reduced to an AC of 10 is destroyed.
Ranged Attack: Corrosive Spit.
Ranged Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, range 30/60 ft., one target.
Hit: 8 (1d10+2) acid damage. The target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or take 2 (1d4) ongoing acid damage at the start of each of its turns. The target can use its action to wipe off the acid to end this effect.
Death Burst (Special Attack)
When the Behemoth Bacterium is reduced to 0 hit points, it bursts, releasing a cloud of necrotic gas. All creatures within 10 feet must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw, taking 9 (2d8) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

Description
A Behemoth Bacterium is a parasitic organism that thrives within the innards of colossal creatures like dragons, feeding off their immense life force and necrotic energy. Resembling a pulsating, gelatinous mass of sickly green and brown ooze, it moves slowly but relentlessly. Its body constantly secretes corrosive acid, capable of eating through metal and flesh with ease. The bacterium is semi-translucent, with shifting organic matter floating within it, giving it an unsettling, alien appearance.
Despite its simple nature, the Behemoth Bacterium is highly dangerous. While not intelligent, it operates on a primal instinct to consume and dissolve anything that comes into its path. It defends itself by launching blobs of corrosive matter at distant foes and slamming its acidic mass into enemies who venture too close. When destroyed, the bacterium erupts in a burst of necrotic gas, a final act of defiance, and leaves behind a residue that is infused with the draconic energy of its host.
Although relatively small for a creature living within a behemoth, it has adapted perfectly to its environment, surviving the hostile and toxic ecosystem inside great dragons. Adventurers who encounter it often do so while exploring the remains of such beasts, and those who manage to defeat the bacterium can harvest a valuable material from its remains: Draconic Core Residue, a coveted substance for spellcasters and alchemists alike
