Description

Baalthazar is a devil who wants for one thing, more fleeting than any life or dream, Fun. He is always scheming new 'games' to play with mortals to entertain himself. His true magical potential is largely unknown and often astronomically under utilized, as he finds crushing civilizations and ending worlds by force to be far too boring. The demon much would rather watch a small settlement crumble from a single drop of subterfuge and it slowly take over than storming a planet in a few days. However, he is all to aware that if he ends weak populations, there is room for new growth to flourish.

Upon detecting the potential of the party, Baalthazar will destroy a town village or city knowing they will react and come to him. He will fight the party and due to unknown reasons  have an unlimited amount of spell charges as well as magic equal to the gods. The party will inevitably all die but Baalthazar will cast True Resurrection on all party members, pets and companions. Explaining he had the most fun hes had in centuries, but he didn't bring you all back to say thanks. He goes on to explain that by coming back they agreed to a deal. The conditions are they will always be brought back to life but are obligated to stay at the settlement and that he will invade once per week until they reach their full potential and beat him or cannot and thus no longer entertain him and he will no longer bring them back.

To defeat Baalthazar the party must figure out the secret to his power before they best him or he will come back to life before the next fight. the secret is an object, clothing or weapon of the DM's choice. Said item will have an enchantment that works like an arcane battery, powered by a magical power source of the DM's, choosing located in the land. The party must destroy steal or nullify the power and defeat Baalthazar to break the contract .
