My kids want one as a pet
I have 2 of these in my story to where if the party gives it a name, he/she now has a companion.
I really wanted one of these in my game but I read on a different online source that they would be around 2000gp, and I can't afford that. Instead, I decided to go to the feywild, name friends with one and take it home with me. Perfect solution! I'm doing a solo have do I am my own game master, and I say it's allowed!

for stats he has +2 perc instead of advantage..willprobably keep the old trait cause hes a good doggie who can now see in the dark.
he got +2 to hit and 1 dmg and his tp is a BA now which doesnt change much because he could bite before or afte tp but he can now move and than tp or tp than move and bite which might be relevant if an ranger is on a difficult position or so.
