Stubborn Offense. The Boar Ape can make a Gore attack immediately if both of its Slam Attacks miss an opponent. After doing this, the next Attack against the Boar Ape will have Advantage, as the Boar Ape left itself open for the sake of another attack.
Charge: If the Boar Ape moves at least 20 ft. straight toward a target and then hits it with a Gore Attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 3 (1d6) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest): If the Boar Ape takes 6 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 Hit Points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.
Multiattack. The boar ape makes two slam attacks.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage.
Gore. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) slashing damage.
Description
The Relentless stamina of a boar and the Agility of an ape make these arboreal foragers dangerous foes. They are omnivorous and depending on whether they are feeling particularly brave, just might pick a fight with your adventuring party. Beware the tactic which has made them truly frightening, that of dropping from the trees above (activating the charge feature) and goring those they land on without giving them a chance to react. This can be a truly nasty surprise round that may see a character or two go prone.
