Traits

Legendary Resistance. (3/day) If Atlas fails a saving throws, he can choose to succeed instead.

Fey Ancestry. Atlas has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put him to sleep.

Weight of Time. Beasts and humanoids, other than shadar-kai, have disadvantage on saving throws while within 10 feet of Atlas. Additionally, any beast or humanoid, other than a shadar-kai, that starts its turn within 5 feet of Atlas has its speed reduced by 20 feet until the start of that creature’s next turn.

Soul Thirst. When Atlas reduces a creature to 0 hit points, he can gain temporary hit points equal to half the creature’s hit point maximum. While Atlas has temporary hit points from this ability, he has advantage on attack rolls.

Actions

Multiattack. Atlas makes two Flaming Strike attacks and can cast a cantrip.

Flaming Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (2d10+10) bludgeoning damage plus 9 (2d8) fire damage. This is a magic weapon attack.

Bonus Actions

Shadow Jump. As a bonus action, Atlas can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space he can see. Both the space he teleports from and the space he teleports to must be in dim light or darkness. Atlas can use this ability between the weapon attacks of another action he takes.

Legendary Actions

Can take 3 Legendary Actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action can be used at a time, and only at the end of another creature's turn. Spent legendary actions are regained at the start of each turn.

Cantrip: Atlas casts a cantrip.

Flaming Strike: Atlas uses his Flaming Strike.

Lethargy: (Costs 2 Actions): Atlas locks eyes with a creature he can see within 60 feet. The creature is hit with a wave of exhaustion. The creature makes a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature falls unconscious until it is damaged or another creature takes its action to shake the victim awake.

Command Dragon: (Costs 2 Actions): Atlas commands his dragon, Viridus, to either come to him or take an action of its own.

Wave of Weariness: (Costs 3 Actions): Atlas emits a wave of weariness in a 60-foot cube. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 25 (5d8) psychic damage and suffers disadvantage untilthe end of its next turn. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage.

Description

Atlas is a Shadar-Kai elf with long silvery-white hair, though it is often hidden behind the cowl of a simple black cloak. He carries a mask around his hip made of metal and wood. Atlas often hides in the shadows, making it harder still to see his face.

Lair and Lair Actions

Atlas's lair is typically his mountaintop cave which has been carved into chambers large enough to even sometimes fit his pet dragon, Viridus. The rooms and tunnels are often devoid of light, and strong magic emanates from within. Holy practitioners are often hit with a discomfort when near or within his lair.

Lair Actions

On initiative count #0, Atlas takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; Atlas can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • All light, including magical, is dimmed, halving its effective range for a minute (10 rounds).
  • A sphere of [Darkness] 30ft in size is cast on a point within the lair.

Regional Effects

The region containing a legendary Atlas's lair is saturated with wild magics and negative energy, which creates one or more of the following effects:

  • The clouds overhead seem to coalesce into a dark blanket, threatening rain seemingly at your approach.
  • An unsettling feeling washes over all creatures within the region. Any humanoid within the area must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature becomes Frightened of Atlas for 1 hour. A creature effected by this can repeat their saving throw every minute out of combat, or every round (6 seconds) within combat.

If Atlas dies, these effects fade over the course of 6 days.
