Traits

Illusionist's Cloak. The Unseen Weasel can cast the invisibility spell on itself at will, without expending a spell slot or material components.

Master of Deception. The Unseen Weasel has advantage on Charisma (Deception) checks and can cast the minor illusion cantrip at will. The illusions it creates can be up to twice their normal size.

Illusionary Escape (Recharge 5–6). When targeted by an attack or spell, the Unseen Weasel can use its reaction to cast mirror image or blur to avoid the attack.

Unseen Illusions. The Unseen Weasel is invisible while in darkness or dim light. This invisibility ends if the weasel attacks or casts a spell but cannot be penetrated by nonmagical vision.

Actions

Multiattack. The Unseen Weasel can make two attacks: one with its Bite and one with its Claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage.

Phantasmal Strike (Recharge 4–6). The Unseen Weasel creates a phantasmal version of itself or another creature within 60 ft. of a target. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or take 12 (3d6 + 3) psychic damage. The target is also charmed by the illusion until the end of the weasel's next turn.

Bonus Actions

Shadow Step. The Unseen Weasel can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space it can see that is in darkness or dim light.

Reactions

Cloak of Shadows (1/round). When attacked by a melee or ranged attack, the Unseen Weasel can use its reaction to create an illusory duplicate of itself, causing the attack to miss if it rolls a 15 or lower on a d20.

Description

Masters of stealth and illusion, the Unseen Weasel is a shadowy trickster of the Verdant Steppes, rarely seen unless it allows itself to be. Possessing innate magical talent, these creatures manipulate perception to vanish at will, weaving illusions so convincing that even seasoned adventurers struggle to tell what is real. Their natural agility and intelligence make them highly evasive foes, preferring to confuse and outmaneuver rather than engage in direct combat. With an affinity for phantasmal deception, an Unseen Weasel will never fight fairly—only cleverly.

They often serve as scouts, spies, and messengers among their kin, but their independent streak ensures that even their own kind never truly know where they are at all times. When confronted, they use their illusionary magic to mislead enemies and slip away before a blade can touch them. Only the most perceptive and cunning hunters have ever managed to glimpse one, let alone capture it.
