Description

Bartios are an unknown type of creature that were once swallowed by gargantuan whales. Their natural resistance to acid allowed them to survive in this harsh environment, where they eat off the swallowings of the host whale.

Lair and Lair Actions

Bartio's live inside a whale.

Regional Effects

The region containing a bartio lair is the digestive track of a whale, which creates the following effect:

  • The entire area is difficult terrain.
  • Any creature not immune to acid damage takes 1d6 acid damage on initiative count 20. If a creature is reduced to zero hit points inside the lair, their body begins to dissolve. If they are revived before dying, they suffer one level of exhaustion for every round they were at zero hit points. If the creature is not revived by the sixth round, the creature dies and its body is dissolved.
