False Appearance. While the rasplet remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a odd-looking dead shrub.
Demolith Subtype. The rasplet has the "(demolith)" tag, which has no rules of its own, but is a tag that affects it in the same way that it would affect a demon or devil.
Semi-Immortal Nature. The rasplet can't die of old age unless affected by magic of a spell of 6th level or higher and doesn't require food, drink, air, or sleep.
Somewhat Spiky Hide. At the start of each of the rasplet's turns, roll a d6. On a 5 or 6, each creature grappling the rasplet takes 2 (1d4) piercing damage.
Multiattack. The rasplet makes two attacks.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) slashing damage.
Spines. Ranged Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft. Hit: 5 (1d8 + 1) piercing damage plus 2 (1d4) poison damage.
Bone Cage (Recharge 4-6). The rasplet casts web, using Wisdom as its spellcasting ability and requiring only somatic components, on a target it can see within range. While restrained by a web spell in this way, the target is trapped by spiky bone-like protrusions that deal 2 (1d4) piercing damage to the target whenever it tries to escape.
Description
Existence as a rasplet is punishment for minions of Skarn seeking territory of their own. Reborn from the jagged pines that abut the plains of torment, rasplets swipe at intruders with barbed claws, or spew spiny pieces of themselves in the hope that the flesh of their kills can reconstitute their old bodies. Because of their part plant nature they can hide in the ground and disguise themselves as one of the barren plants of the Forest of Misery, to lay in ambush.
Rasplets come in three variants
- Common Rasplet
- Rasplet Hulk, a.k.a Gnarled Pawn: These huge Rasplets use their arm which doubles as a sword for sweeping attacks or even to cause small quakes by stabbing their hands into the ground and violently ripping it out.
- Rasplet Weaver: These Rasplets fire bone darts from their deformed hands. They are also capable of trapping their victims in Spear Cages.
