False Appearance. While Vrytix remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a odd-looking dead shrub.
Demolith Subtype. Vrytix has the "(demolith)" tag, which has no rules of its own, but is a tag that affects it in the same way that it would affect a demon or devil.
Semi-Immortal Nature. Vrytix can't die of old age unless affected by magic of a spell of 6th level or higher and doesn't require food, drink, air, or sleep.
Somewhat Spiky Hide. At the start of each of Vrytix's turns, roll a d6. On a 5 or 6, each creature grappling Vrytix takes 3 (1d6) piercing damage.
Multiattack. Vrytix makes two attacks, only one of which can be with its giant claw.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage.
Giant Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft. Hit: 18 (4d6 + 4) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) poison damage.
Spines. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft. Hit: 8 (2d6 + 2) piercing damage plus 6 (1d12) poison damage.
Ground Pierce (Recharge 4-6). Vrytix slams its bladed arm into the ground before violently ripping out, causing debris to fly through the air in a 15-foot radius. Each target within that area must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 13 (2d12) bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success. If the target fails the saving throw by 3 or more, that target takes an additional 19 (3d12) slashing damage from the blade ripping from the ground on a failed save.
Rootcage Burst (Recharge 4-6). Vrytix casts the spell web, using Wisdom as his spellcasting modifier and only needing somatic components, at up to two targets that he can see within range. While restrained by a web made by the spell in this way, the web is made out of spiky bone-like protrusions that deal 5 (2d4) piercing damage to the restrained target whenever they try to escape.
Teleport. Vrytix, a long with everything it is wearing or carrying, teleports to an unoccupied space it can see within 90 feet of it.
Description
Vrytix is a mysterious rasplet morph that was once a member of the Wrathborne, under Skarn's command. During this time, the demon wanted more power and a way to tower over all other members of the Wrathborne, being commanded by only Skarn himself. To do this, he made a pact with the mysterious Old Growth, the demonic floraform that lairs near one of the main entrances to the Burning Hells. However, Skarn caught wind of this plan, and swiftly slew the supposed traitor, and left his spirit to rot. The Old Growth, in order to complete its pact with the aggrieved demon, resurrected him as a freak hybrid of branches and what was left of his demonic corpse, creating a new monstrosity.
