Brute. A melee weapon deals one extra die of its damage when the bugbear hits with it (included in the attack).
Heart of Hruggek. The bugbear has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, frightened, paralyzed, poisoned, stunned, or put to sleep.
Surprise Attack. If the bugbear surprises a creature and hits it with an attack during the first round of combat, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) damage from the attack.
Rage. When in battle (ie after initiative has been rolled), the berserker is considered to be raging. It gets +2 to damage (already in attack); resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing damage; and advantage on Strength checks.
Reckless. At the start of its turn, the berserker can gain advantage on all melee weapon attack rolls during that turn, but attack rolls against it have advantage until the start of its next turn.
Greataxe. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (2d12 + 8) slashing damage.
Handaxe. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d6 + 8) slashing damage in melee or 9 (1d6 + 6) slashing damage at range.
Description
Bugbears are hairy goblinoids born for battle and mayhem. The Blood Ghost Berserkers dye their hair mottled grey and white to signify that they walk in the world of the dead. Once in battle, they use loud eerie moans and cries as of the dead, and single-mindedly destroy their enemies with reckless disregard for their own (and their allies') safety.
(The Blood Ghost Berserker has been adapted from Red Hand of Doom page 117).
