Amethyst Elephant (Master Amethyst Bookkeeper)

Soulbound Tome. The Master Amethyst Bookkeeper wields a powerful Soulbound Tome. If the tome is lost or destroyed, it returns to the Bookkeeper after 1 hour. The tome also provides the following benefits:

• Rune of Return. The Bookkeeper may teleport to a designated "home" location once per long rest.
• Tome Proficiency. The Bookkeeper gains proficiency in Arcana and one additional skill of their choice.

Arcane Insight. The Master Amethyst Bookkeeper can telepathically communicate with other Amethyst Bookkeepers anywhere on the same plane once per long rest, allowing them to share knowledge or request aid similar to the Sending spell.

Forbidden Knowledge. The Bookkeeper’s Soulbound Tome allows them to cast spells from any class’s spell list as long as the spell is inscribed in their tome. These count as Wizard spells and use their available spell slots and spell level restrictions.

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the Master Amethyst Bookkeeper fails a saving throw, they can choose to succeed instead.

Transformation. Once per long rest, the Master Amethyst Bookkeeper can channel their ancient bloodline and transform into an Ancient Amethyst Elephant (Beast Form) for 1 hour. This transformation grants them all abilities and stats of the Ancient Amethyst Elephant (Beast Form).

Spellcasting. The Master Amethyst Bookkeeper is an 18th-level spellcaster. Their spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 20, +12 to hit with spell attacks). The Bookkeeper has the following spells prepared:

• Cantrips (At Will): mage hand, thaumaturgy, mending, fire bolt
• 1st level (4 slots): shield, magic missile, detect magic, feather fall
• 2nd level (3 slots): mirror image, misty step, hold person
• 3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, dispel magic, fireball
• 4th level (3 slots): dimension door, greater invisibility, arcane eye
• 5th level (3 slots): teleportation circle, telekinesis, cone of cold
• 6th level (1 slot): globe of invulnerability, chain lightning
• 7th level (1 slot): forcecage
• 8th level (1 slot): maze

Multiattack. The Master Amethyst Bookkeeper makes two attacks: one with their Amethyst Staff and one spell attack.

Amethyst Staff. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.
Hit: 22 (4d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage plus 14 (4d6) radiant damage.

Ward of Insight. The Master Amethyst Bookkeeper can project a magical ward, granting themselves or an ally (15) temporary hit points equal to their Intelligence modifier + their Wizard level. This lasts for 1 minute or until depleted (once per short or long rest).

Arcane Recovery. Once per long rest, the Master Amethyst Bookkeeper can regain expended spell slots up to a combined level equal to half their Wizard level (rounded up).

The Master Amethyst Bookkeeper can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time, and only at the end of another creature's turn. The Master Amethyst Bookkeeper regains spent legendary actions at the start of their turn.

• Cast Cantrip. The Master Amethyst Bookkeeper casts one cantrip.
• Move. The Master Amethyst Bookkeeper moves up to their speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
• Mystic Pulse (Costs 2 Actions). The Master Amethyst Bookkeeper releases a burst of arcane energy. Each creature within 20 feet must succeed on a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw or take 20 (4d8) force damage.
