Dark Domain: a dark, hard to navigate gas takes up its entire space. Other creatures can enter the space, but a creature that does so is subjected to the mass’s Engulf and has disadvantage on the saving throw.
Creatures inside the domain become foggy, blurry and warped to outsiders.
A creature within 5 feet of the domain can take an action to pull a creature or object out of the domain.Doing so requires a successful DC 12 Strength check, and the creature making the attempt takes 10 (3d6) delusions damage.
The mass can hold Large, Medium or smaller creatures inside of its domain at a time.
Transparent. Even when the mass is in plain sight, it takes a successful DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check to spot a mass that has neither moved nor attacked. A creature that tries to enter the mass’s space while unaware of the cube is surprised by the mass and their dexterity stat gets reduced by 1.
Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (3d6) delusion damage.
Ambush.The mass moves up to its target, it can enter Large or smaller creatures' spaces. Whenever the mass enters a creature's space, the creature must make a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw.
On a successful save, the creature will be pushed 5 feet back or to the side of the mass. A creature that chooses not to be pushed suffers the consequences of a failed saving throw.
On a failed save, the mass enters the creature's space, and the creature takes 10 (3d6) delusion damage and is engulfed. The engulfed creature can't breathe, is restrained, and takes 21 (6d6) suffocation damage at the start of each of the mass’s turns. When the mass moves, the engulfed creature moves with it.
A ambushed creature can try to escape by taking an action to make a DC 12 Strength check. On a success, the creature escapes and enters a space of its choice within 5 feet of the mass.
Consume.
Desperate escape. if a light based attack or environment is active for 5 to 10 turns, desperate escape will activate, causing the mass to attempt an escape,[DC roll 10 or higher on the D20] if the action is failed, the mass will get DEX, STR, INT and WIS stats reduced by 2, if successful, the mass will flee the fight and heal to its original state before the fight, and all stats will be buffed by 1. After some time the mass will return to the players and will start another encounter.
This action can be attempted 3 times before the mass is completely exhausted, and submits to the players.
Description
A big blob like mass appears in a dense forest next to a city, it pulsates like a heart deep in the woods, after a few months without being found out, it moves, grows deformities and stays like that for a few days, after this time passes it grows again a new growth, a face, pale in colour, it hungers, hungers for flesh, it grows limb like growths and moves away to an area dense with cattle and begins catching and eating the animals, monsters and people alike, after a few weeks, maybe months of feeding, it stops, and runs to the nearest shadowy space to cool of, the sun has burned it, and any light source seems to do the same, the mass has matured into an adult, it stands tall at 15 - 25 feet high, it grows powerful, and hungry, it wants omnivore meat, and the easiest omnivore to catch just so happens to be a human, the very creatures it lives next to, it hunts during night as the light burns them, and is rather good at it too, hunting down and eating whole adventurer squads, once it has been feeding for a couple of decades, it grows again, to an elder, a massive creature that stands at 30 - 50 feet tall, it now seems to look like a massive black fog that consumes towns whole, it leaves only rubble behind, not a living thing in sight, not even the dead can be found there, everything was consumed.
