Posted Nov 2, 2024Wanted to do an alpha variant to the rust monster. In my mind it's the size of a small horse and features a gizzard which produces corrosive bile for devouring harder alloys.
They can still subsist on a diet of ferrous metal objects but their ability to also consume limited nonferrous material has allowed them to grow to a substantial size difference from their lesser hive-mates.
They can either be found completely solitary or in a Pair along with other standard Rust monsters and become become far more aggressive if approached in steel armor or with steel weapons.
Lore states that this breed was being domesticated for dwarven barbarian riders with stone armor and armament. A completely terrifying experience for any traditional standing army to face.
