Traits

Hive Mind. The Blighted Giant Sand Serpent shares a hive mentality with other Blighted creatures, allowing them to coordinate attacks. If one Blighted creature is aware of a hostile creature, all others in the hive mind are also aware.

Blighted Scourge. Natural weapon attacks by the Blighted Giant Sand Serpent can infect creatures with the Blighted Scourge. A creature hit by the serpent’s attack must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or contract the Blighted Scourge.

Tunneler. The Blighted Giant Sand Serpent can burrow through solid rock at half its burrow speed, leaving a 10-foot-diameter tunnel in its wake.

Actions

Multiattack. The Blighted Giant Sand Serpent makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its constrict.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 5) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be infected with the Blighted Scourge.

Constrict. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (3d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 16). Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained and takes 10 (3d6) necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns.

Blighted Quicksand (Recharge 5-6). The Blighted Giant Sand Serpent creates a 15-foot-radius area of blighted quicksand within 60 feet. The area becomes difficult terrain. Each creature that starts its turn in the quicksand must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be pulled 5 feet toward the center and take 14 (4d6) necrotic damage. Creatures that fail the save are also infected with the Blighted Scourge.

Description

A massive, corrupted serpent lurking beneath the desert sands. Its darkened, blighted scales pulse with toxic energy, and its glowing purple eyes radiate pure malice as it strikes with deadly precision.
