Hive Mind. The Blighted Stegosaurus (Hive Lord) is connected to the Blighted Hive Mind, enabling telepathic communication with other Blighted creatures within range.

Blighted Scourge. Natural weapon attacks by the Blighted Stegosaurus can infect creatures with the Blighted Scourge. A creature hit by the Stegosaurus’s attack must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or contract the Blighted Scourge.

Death Burst. When the Blighted Stegosaurus dies, it explodes in necrotic energy. All creatures within 15 feet must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw, taking 18 (4d8) necrotic damage on a failed save and becoming infected with the Blighted Scourge.

Blight Discharge (3/Day). Ranged Spell Attack: +8 to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (4d8) Blight damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom or Constitution saving throw or advance one stage in the Blighted Scourge.

Death Burst Empowerment. Upon death, the Stegosaurus can summon two Blighted creatures (CR 2 or lower) within 15 feet as a reaction to its death burst.

Spread the Scourge. When the Stegosaurus hits with its Tail attack, the target’s first saving throw against the Blighted Scourge is made with disadvantage.

Transfer Consciousness (1/Day). If the Stegosaurus is about to die, it can attempt to transfer its consciousness to another Blighted creature within 60 feet. It cannot use Hive Lord abilities until it has adapted to the new vessel (2d6 turns).

Actions

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 27 (6d6 + 6) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be knocked prone.

Bonus Actions

Trample (Recharge 5-6). The Blighted Stegosaurus charges a creature within 30 feet. The creature must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or take 21 (4d6 + 6) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone.

Scourged Ground (Recharge 5–6). As a bonus action, the blighted elephant corrupts a 10-foot radius area within 60 feet of it for 1 minute. The area becomes difficult terrain for enemies, and when a creature in this area takes damage, it suffers an additional 1d6 blight damage. Infected creatures in the area must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or advance in the Blighted Scourge infection.

Reactions

Blighted Call (2/Day). When a creature within the Scourged Ground takes damage, the Stegosaurus can summon a blighted creature (CR 2 or lower) in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the target.

Legendary Actions

The Blighted Stegosaurus can take 1 legendary action, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action can be used at a time, and it can be used only at the end of another creature’s turn. The Blighted Stegosaurus regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

  • Tail Swipe. The Blighted Stegosaurus makes a tail attack against a creature within range.
  • Summon Blighted Minion (Costs 2 Actions). The Stegosaurus summons one Blighted Creature of CR 1 or lower within 30 feet.
  • Blighted Command (Costs 3 Actions). The Stegosaurus commands all Blighted creatures within 30 feet to make a melee attack.

Description

The Blighted Stegosaurus Hive Lord is an even larger and more corrupted version of its kin, towering over the battlefield with a hulking frame infused with blighted energy. Its body is riddled with jagged, pulsating spikes that ooze with infectious blight, and its massive, armored plates radiate a sickly glow. Unlike lesser Blighted creatures, the Hive Lord exhibits a disturbing level of intelligence, leading groups of infected beasts in carefully coordinated attacks.

This monstrous entity serves as a guardian of the most corrupted lands, ensuring that intruders are either slain or consumed by the Blighted Scourge. Its presence alone is enough to instill dread, as the very ground it treads becomes tainted with dark energy. A devastating force of nature, it can unleash violent tail strikes, summoning blighted minions from the surrounding corruption, and even transfer its consciousness to another Blighted creature upon death, ensuring its will lingers even in destruction.
