Arcane Pool. The golem absorbs energy from nearby spellcasting. Most golems hold 1 charge point at any given time but can hold up to 4. As a bonus action while casting a spell within 5 feet of the golem, the golem's controller can expend the golem's charge points to cast the spell without expending a spell slot. To do so, the controller must expend a number of charge points equal to the level of the spell.
Immutable Form. The golem is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.
Magic Resistance. The golem has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Magic Weapons. The golem's weapon attacks are magical.
Multiattack. The golem makes two attacks.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage.
Arcane Surge. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d12 + 2) bludgeoning damage plus 7 (2d6) force damage.
Arcane Absorption. When a spell is cast within 30 feet of it, the golem absorbs some of the spell's potency. If it is a spell that forces a saving throw, the DC to succeed drops by 2. If it is a spell with an attack roll, the attack roll has disadvantage. The golem regains 20 hp and gains 1 charge point in its Arcane Pool.
The Ancient Stone Golem can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The golem regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.
Energy Beam. The golem fires a beam of blue energy from its eyes in a 40-foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw, taking 16 (3d10) force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Bones of the Earth (Costs 2 Actions). The golem stomps the ground, which causes the effects of the bones of the earth spell at a point within 120 ft of the golem with a DC 12 saving throw. After two rounds, the pillars of earth explode, leaving stone cursed duplicates of the players in its place.
Description
Stone golems display great variety in shape and form, cut and chiseled from stone to appear as tall, impressive statues. Though most bear humanoid features, stone golems can be carved in any form the sculptor can imagine. Ancient stone golems found in sealed tombs or flanking the gates of lost cities sometimes take the forms of giant beasts.
Like other golems, stone golems are nearly impervious to spells and ordinary weapons. Creatures that fight a stone golem can feel the ebb and flow of time slow down around them, almost as though they were made of stone themselves.
Blind Obedience. When its creator or possessor is on hand to command it, a golem performs flawlessly. If the golem is left without instructions or is incapacitated, it continues to follow its last orders to the best of its ability. When it can’t fulfill its orders, a golem might react violently — or stand and do nothing. A golem that has been given conflicting orders sometimes alternates between them.
A golem can’t think or act for itself. Though it understands its commands perfectly, it has no grasp of language beyond that understanding, and can’t be reasoned with or tricked with words.
Constructed Nature. A golem doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep.
