Spellcasting. Zorya casts one of the following spells using Intelligence as spellcasting ability (spell save DC 15, +8 to hit):
At Will: Thaumaturgy, Poison Spray, Mage Hand, Mage Armor, Charm Person
2/Day Each: Misty Step, Hold Person, Counterspell, Ray of Sickness
1/Day Each: Greater Invisibilty, Lightning Bolt
Arcane Ward (1/Day). Zorya takes the Magic Action to give herself or one ally she can see within 30 feet of herself a magic ward that protects them. The targeted creature gains 20 temporary hit points. A creature can not benefit from this ability if it already has temporary hit points.
Magic Missile. Zorya casts Magic Missile (level 2 version).
Dagger. Meele Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4+2) piercing damage.
Warding Glyph (1/Day). Trigger: When Zorya or an ally she can see within 30 feet is hit by an attack roll. Response: Force the attacker to make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become restrained until the end of the attacker’s next turn.
Shield (Recharge 5-6). Zorya casts Shield.
Description
Zorya (she/her) is a young and talented abjuration prodigy, apprenticed to a renowned mage or temporarily running a small magical shop of her own. Sharp-minded and quicker with her words than her plans, she often talks herself into situations she hasn't entirely thought through. Though her magical talent is undeniable, her workspace is a maze of scattered books, unfinished enchantments, and half-labeled potion bottles.
She meets danger the same way she meets difficult customers—with sarcasm first, spells second. Her confidence sometimes outpaces her experience, leading to moments where she’s clearly in over her head. Still, her resourcefulness and protective magic make her a surprisingly resilient opponent or invaluable ally.
Zorya tries to put on a professional air when dealing with customers, but her awkward charm and occasional social missteps betray how new she is to the trade. Despite this, her heart is in the right place, and she genuinely wants to help—with a spell scroll, a warding charm, or a well-timed eye roll.
Personality Traits: Speaks rapidly when explaining magical concepts; habitually misplaces her spell components or notes; tuts loudly when something doesn't meet her standards of logic.
Ideal: Knowledge. Magic should be understood, improved, and shared—preferably in properly labeled containers.
Bond: Deeply loyal to her mentor or the shop she’s striving to protect; fears disappointing their legacy.
Flaw: Flustered under pressure and terribly disorganized; may overestimate her abilities or underestimate dangers.
