Traits

Hive Mind. The Blighted Stalker shares a telepathic connection with other Blighted creatures. If one Blighted creature is aware of a hostile creature, all Blighted within range are also aware.

The Blighted Scourge. When the Stalker hits with a natural weapon, the target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or advance in the Blighted Scourge infection.

Shadowmeld. While in dim light or darkness, the Blighted Stalker can use a bonus action to turn invisible. It remains invisible until it attacks, casts a spell, or enters bright light.

Silent Ambush. The Blighted Stalker has advantage on Stealth checks, and creatures have disadvantage on Perception checks to detect it while it is in darkness or heavily obscured terrain.

Actions

Multiattack. The Blighted Stalker makes two attacks: one with its claws and one with its blighted bite.

Blighted Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) slashing damage plus 9 (2d8) blighted energy damage. The target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or advance in the Blighted Scourge infection.

Blighted Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d12 + 4) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) blighted energy damage.

Shadow Strike (Recharge 5–6). The Blighted Stalker can make a shadow-fueled attack on a creature within 30 feet. The target must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 27 6d8 blighted energy damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. On a failure, the target is also restrained by shadowy tendrils until the end of its next turn.

Reactions

Swift Retreat. When a creature misses the Blighted Stalker with a melee attack, the Stalker can immediately move up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Description

The Blighted Stalker is a terrifying creature of the shadows, a silent predator infused with the corrupting power of the Blighted Scourge. Its elongated, sinewy form is draped in dark, chitinous armor, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the darkness. A pair of pale, glowing eyes pierce the gloom, ever watchful for prey.

Lurking in the most desolate and forsaken places, the Blighted Stalker is an expert ambusher. It moves without a sound, striking from the darkness with lethal precision. When stalking its prey, it uses its Shadowmeld ability to vanish into the darkness, reappearing only when it is ready to strike. Its razor-sharp claws and fanged maw drip with blighted energy, infecting those unfortunate enough to be caught in its grasp.

These creatures are often found patrolling the outer reaches of Blighted territories, hunting for intruders or potential hosts for the infection. While most Blighted creatures act as mindless drones, the Blighted Stalker retains a twisted sense of intelligence, using strategy and patience to toy with its victims before delivering the final, infected blow.
