Hive Mind. The Blighted Apex Behemoth shares a telepathic connection with other Blighted creatures. If one Blighted creature within range is aware of a hostile creature, all Blighted creatures in that range are also aware.
Blighted Scourge. Natural weapon attacks by the Apex Behemoth carry the Blighted Scourge infection. A creature hit by its attacks must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or advance one stage in the Blighted Scourge infection.
Blighted Regeneration. The Apex Behemoth regenerates 30 hit points at the start of its turn, provided it has at least 1 hit point. This regeneration is suppressed for 1 round if the Behemoth takes radiant damage.
Colossal Stature. The Apex Behemoth occupies a space of 20x20 feet and has advantage on Strength saving throws against being moved or knocked prone. It can move through the space of any creature that is Huge or smaller. When it enters a creature’s space for the first time on a turn, that creature must make a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw or take 33 (6d10) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone.
Aura of Desolation. A 40-foot radius around the Behemoth is filled with oppressive corruption. Any creature that starts its turn in the aura must make a DC 21 Constitution saving throw or take 18 (4d8) blighted energy damage and advance one stage in the Blighted Scourge infection. Blighted creatures in the aura gain advantage on attack rolls and deal an additional 1d8 blighted energy damage.
Siege Monster. The Apex Behemoth deals double damage to objects and structures.
Multiattack. The Apex Behemoth makes three attacks: one with its Bite and two with its Slam.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 38 (5d10 + 10) piercing damage plus 18 (4d8) blighted energy damage. The target must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or advance in the Blighted Scourge infection.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 36 (6d10 + 10) bludgeoning damage plus 13 (3d8) blighted energy damage. The target must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or advance in the Blighted Scourge infection.
Blight Burst (Recharge 5–6). The Apex Behemoth releases a surge of concentrated blighted energy in a 40-foot radius. Each creature in the area must make a DC 21 Dexterity saving throw, taking 63 (14d8) blighted energy damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. Creatures that fail the save also advance one stage in the Blighted Scourge infection.
Earthquake Stomp (Recharge 6). The Behemoth stomps the ground, causing a violent tremor. Each creature within 30 feet must make a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw or take 40 (9d8) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The area becomes difficult terrain for 1 minute.
Blighted Energy Absorption. As a bonus action, the Apex Behemoth can absorb the blighted energy of one creature within 60 feet. If the target is a Blighted creature, it must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or take 36 (8d8) blighted energy damage, and the Behemoth regains hit points equal to half the damage dealt.
If the target is not a Blighted creature, it must still make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes the damage as normal and advances one stage in the Blighted Scourge infection. On a successful save, the creature takes no damage and gains 2 successes toward reducing its current stage of the Blighted Scourge infection.
This ability cannot target the same creature more than once per round.
Blighted Resurgence (1/Day). When reduced to 50% or less of its hit points, the Apex Behemoth can immediately use its Blight Burst action.
The Blighted Apex Behemoth can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time, and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The Behemoth regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
- Slam Attack. The Behemoth makes one Slam attack.
- Corruption Pulse (Costs 2 Actions). The Behemoth releases a pulse of blighted corruption. All creatures within 15 feet must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution saving throw or take 22 (5d8) blighted energy damage and advance one stage in the Blighted Scourge infection.
- Devastating Roar (Costs 3 Actions). The Behemoth emits a terrifying roar. Each creature within 60 feet must succeed on a DC 21 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. Infected creatures in the radius take 18 (4d8) additional blighted energy damage.
