Spider Climb. The aranea can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Web Sense. While in contact with a web, the aranea knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web.
Web Walker. The aranea ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing.
Aversion of Fire. If the aranea takes fire damage, it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the end of its next turn.
Spellcasting. The aranea is a 5th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 12, +4 to hit with spell attacks). The aranea has the following sorcerer spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): minor illusion, infestation, mage hand, poison spray, chill touch
1st level (4 slots): charm person, silent image, ice knife
2nd level (3 slots): misty step, suggestion
3rd level (2 slots): tidal wave, major image
Shapechanger. The aranea can use its action to polymorph into a humanoid or into a spider, or back into its true form, which is a spider-humanoid hybrid. Its statistics, other than its AC, are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Multiattack. The aranea makes three attacks, one with its bite and two with its dagger.
Dagger (Hybrid or Humanoid Form Only. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage.
Bite (Spider or Hybrid Form Only. Melee Attack Roll: +4 , reach 5 ft. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 2) piercing damage plus 9 (3d6) Poison damage.
Web (Spider or Hybrid Form Only) (Recharge 5–6). Dexterity Saving Throw: DC 13, one creature the aranea can see within 60 feet. Failure: The target has the Restrained condition until the web is destroyed (AC 10; HP 5; Vulnerability to Fire damage; Immunity to Poison and Psychic damage).
