Traits

Regeneration. The vampire regains 15 hit points at the of its turn if it isn't in sunlight or running water. If the vampire takes fire or radiant damage, this round this trait doesn't function until the vampire's next turn

Guardian Presence. While the vampire is above 0 HP and and within 60 feet of Strahd, the vampire lord gains the benefit of the shield of faith spell.

Vampire Weaknesses. This vampire is cursed with all typical vampire weaknesses.

Innate Spellcasting. The vampire's spellcasting ability Charisma (save DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks). The vampire can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: wrathful smite, booming blade (5th-level), green-flame blade (5th-level)
1/day each: warding bond, staggering smite, word of recall

Gear (Silver Dragon Shield). This vampire bears a magical shield of the Order of the Silver Dragon. This shield provides them with a +2 bonus to AC (already factored in above) as well as a +2 bonus to initiative checks while they are not incapacitated.

Actions

Multiattack. Oleg can attack twice with his sabre; alternately, he may cast either booming blade or green-flame blade in place of one sabre attack.

Sabre. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) slashing damage plus 10 (3d6) necrotic damage; Constitution save (DC 15) or max HP is reduced by necrotic damage taken until long rest.

  • Booming Blade. As per the Sabre attack, plus: the target becomes sheathed in booming energy until the start of the vampires next turn. If they move willingly before then, they take 9 (2d8) thunder damage and the spell ends.
  • Green-Flame Blade. As per the Sabre attack, plus: the target takes an additional 4 (1d8) fire damage and one additional target within 5 feet of them takes 8 (1d8 + 4) fire damage)

Dark Animus (Recharge 5-6). At the end of Oleg's turn, he may choose to immediately take another free turn.

Shadowmantle (1/Rest). As a bonus action, the vampire casts a shadowy veil around itself. It gains 20 temporary hit points. If a creature strike the vampire with a melee attack while it has these hit points, they take 20 necrotic damage. The veil lasts for 1 hour or until the temporary HP is reduced to 0. While the veil remains, the vampire is immune to the harmful effects of sunlight.

Reactions

Guardian Parry. When one melee attack would hit the vampire or another creature within 5 feet of the vampire, the vampire parries. To do so, the vampire must see the attack and be wielding a melee weapon. The target of the triggering attack adds 4 to its AC against that attack.

Description

A powerful vampire that serves as a member of Strahd's personal guard.

Bloodguard. The Bloodguard are a group of elite soldiers and knights who served Strahd faithfully in life. Even in death, the members of the bloodguard to could not abide their lust for blood overruling their loyalty to the Lord of the Valley; each willingly sewed their mouths shut, preventing them from tasting the blood they so voraciously craved. Instead, members of the bloodguard channel this desirous impulse into battlefield savagery.

The Shield. In life, Oleg was knight-captain and fervent defender of the kingdoms of Barov. Recognizing his devotion, Strahd made Oleg his personal bodyguard and commander of his most elite infantry unit; the bloodguard. Little did they know then how true the name would one day prove.

In death, Oleg's fervent devotion turned to worship; having attained the power beyond life and death, Strahd became a god in Oleg's eyes. Through fanatical prayer, he has achieved a host of strange new abilities that he did not possess in life.

Guardian of His Majesty's Royal Person. As the commander of the Bloodguard, Oleg's duty is to guard Strahd himself. Though the Master of the House of Ravenloft ill-needs protection, Oleg nonetheless pursues this duty with a quiet but relentless zeal. Wherever Strahd treads, Oleg is rarely far behind.
