Actions

Multiattack. Vasha can attack twice with her Towersword (three times if she is bloodied).

Towersword. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) slashing damage plus 10 (3d6) necrotic damage; Constitution save (DC 15) or max HP is reduced by necrotic damage taken until long rest.

Description

A powerful vampire that serves as a member of Strahd's personal guard.

Bloodguard. The Bloodguard are a group of elite soldiers and knights who served Strahd faithfully in life. Even in death, the members of the bloodguard to could not abide their lust for blood overruling their loyalty to the Lord of the Valley; each willingly sewed their mouths shut, preventing them from tasting the blood they so voraciously craved. Instead, members of the bloodguard channel this desirous impulse into battlefield savagery.

The Tall. In life, Vasha was one of Strahd's most dogged enemies. Descended from the mountains clans of the valley that would become Barovia, Vasha led a guerrilla force against the count for many years. Once finally brought to heel, Strahd offered her a life of servitude in place of execution. Recognizing the his strength, Vasha pledged herself to him.

Long before her return as a vampire, Vasha was known for her preternatural strength and endurance. It is said that her missing arm was plucked by a giant, and yet Vasha still managed to steal the giant's sword and, with one arm, slay them with it.

Guardian of His Majesty's Rest. In death, Vasha guards Strahd's tomb. In addition to being his sanctum, his greatest refuge, Strahd's coffin is also the place where he would reconstitute and recover in the unlikely event of his physical destruction. Only when staked and destroyed while in his coffin can Strahd be permanently killed. As such, his tomb must be guarded with constant vigilance.
