Attack Stance.The animated forge takes an attack stance. It's AC become's 10 and it's walking speed become's 40. The animated forge can only be in one stance at the time. This stance end's either after the end of it's second turn, or at will. After leaving the attack stance, the animated forge can not use it's legendary actions for 1 turn.
Defense Stance.The animated forge takes an defense stance. It's AC become's 25 and it's walking speed becomes 0. A creature that hits the animated forge with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 7 (2d6) piercing damage. Even if the attack misses. In defense stance, the animated forge must use its next turn to use mending. It can never be in the same stance twice in a row. After beeing in a stance, it can not go into a stance for one turn.
Multiattack. The animated forge makes one Sword attack, one Hammer attack and one meele Spear attack. Instead it can make two Spear ranged attacks.
Sword. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 3) slashing damage.
Hammer. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage.
Spear. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage.
Conflagration (Recharge 5-6): The animated forge erupts out of its inners in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 14 (4d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Anvil. [Attack Stance Only]: Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (3d10 + 3) bludgeoning damage, and the target has the Prone condition if it is Huge or smaller.
Mending. [Defense Stance Only]: The animated forge is mending himself. After using this action, the defense stance end's at the beginning of the animated forge's next turn. The animated forge then regains 13 hit points.
If the animated forge takes cold damage, this the regained hit points become 0.
Parry. The animated forge adds 3 to its AC against one melee attack that would hit it. To do so, the animated forge must see the attacker and be wielding a melee weapon. (not useable in any stance)
The animated forge can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The animated forge regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Movement. The animated forge can use up to 20 ft. without provoking opportunity attacks.
Sword. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 3) slashing damage.
Hammer. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage.
Spear. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage
Entering Attack Stance (Costs 2 Actions). The animated forge is entering the Attack Stance.
Entering Defense Stance (Costs 2 Actions). The animated forge is entering the Defense Stance.
Burning Oil ((Recharge 5-6) Costs 3 Actions). The animated forge can throw burning oil on up to 7 individual 5 feet sphere areas within a range of 80 feet. Each creature in that area must make a DC 11 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4 (1d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Description
The animated forge is an construct that was build and imbused with magic to serve the humankind. Its original task, was to smith tool's and weapon's.
Through magic, the forge has developed its own will and uses its forged weapons to attack.
This monster is meant to be an HIGH RISK single creature Boss encounter for a Group of 5 Players at the range of level 3-4.
