Fortify Mind. When Ascarla is forced to make a Constitution Saving Throw to maintain concentration, she can use her reaction to give herself advantage on the saving throw.
Spellcasting. Ascarla is a 4th-level spellcaster. Her spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). Ascarla has following Wizard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): Dancing Lights, Mage Hand, Message, Prestidigitation
1st level (4 slots): Detect Magic, Mage Armor, Shield
2nd level (3 slots): Alter Self, Invisibility, See Ivisibility
3rd level (3 slots): Counterspell, Haste, Sending
4th level (1 slot): Dimension Door, Polymorph
Quarterstaff. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 6 (1d8 + 1) bludgeoning damage.
Dagger. Melee Weapoin Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage.
Calming Words (3/day). Ascarla chooses one creature within 60 feet of her that she can see and that can hear her and tries to calm it down. If the creature is charmed or frightened, the effect ends. If the creature is hostile toward Ascarla or her allies, it must succeed on a Charisma Saving Throw (DC 13) or become charmed by her for 1 minute. While charmed by this ability a creature spends every turn using the dodge action and moving out of harms way until it is target of an attack or hostile spell. After the effect ends a creature affected by it has advantage on the saving throw to avoid it for 24 hours.
Channel Power (1/day). Ascarla tries to tap into her latent magical abilities and cast a spell of 5th level or higher from the Wizard spell list. To do so she must succeed an Intelligence (Arcana) check beating a DC of 12 + the spell's level. Afterwards she becomes unable to cast any spell for an amount of minutes equal to 15 + 5 times the spell's level (so after casting a 5th level spell she remains unable to cast spells for 40 minutes) although she is still able to concentrate on the spell she cast through this ability. If she was concentrating on a spell before she uses this ability she loses concentration on that spell.
Short Fade Step (3/day). Ascarla magically teleports with anything she is carrying up to 10 feet of distance to an unoccupied space.
Description
Being almost an exact copy of her mother, Ascarla shares her beauty and elegance, yet somehow none of her ambition or cruelty. Ascarla has been a force of good in her mother's court, always advocating for gentle and fair approaches in dealing with her mother's subjects. She is known as a friend of the common folk and the people love her even more than they fear her mother.
Ascarla is very studious and will never decline a chance to delve into uncharted territory or make contact with a new species, much to the dismay of her mother who tries absolutely everything to keep her away from harm.
Bright Princess of Darkness. Though Ascarla does not technically command any of her mother's minions, they have been commanded to aid her in any undertaking she gets up to and will follow her commands as long as they do not stand in conflict with her mother's desires. She is usually also (without her knowledge) followed at a distance by a couple of her mother's spies to ensure her safety.
Favored by the Common Folk. Any person or creature that can establish themself as Ascarla's ally can count on the help of the peasants that love her dearly. Some even say there are secret ways of making sure someone is actually her ally, just to be safe.
Unnaturally Gifted. Ascarla's abilities are far beyond anything a young girl she be able to do. Some suspect that she was not born but rather created by her mother, to what end is unclear. If someone uses the Detect Magic spell around her they will see her lit up by a rainbow of colors, emminating pure arcane energy to the point it is almost blinding.
