Lair and Lair Actions
The lair is considered the space inside of the animated tavern.
Lair Actions
On initiative count 16 (losing initiative ties), the animated tavern takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; it can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- All furniture inside the animated tavern starts to shift and bolt around the room. All creatures within the tavern must succeed on a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw or take 13 (3d8) bludgeoning damage or half as much on a successful save.
- The animated tavern's eye appears in the interior and observes its surroundings. A floorboard in front of a creature visible to it within the tavern springs up in an attempt to smack the creature. The animated tavern makes an attack against the creature, dealing 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage on a hit. Additionally a hit creature is knocked prone and drops any weapons its carrying.
- Its eye appears in the interior and observes its surroundings. A chandelier is lowered from the ceiling to the floor and swung toward a creature visible to it within the tavern. The creature must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take 11 (3d4 + 4) piercing damage and be knocked back 20 ft. towards the taverns opening, falling outside if the creature leaves the interior area.
