Description

The sasquatch is a legendary hulking beast of hair and muscle, not commonly seen by outsiders of their forest realm. They are passive creatures that possess a humanoid intellect, which allows them to speak and use simple tools. Sasquatch are also able to communicate with one another from a distance through calls, wails, and howls of their own language.

Wanderers of the Wood. The Sasquatch is a rare and mysterious creature that wanders the forests of the world like a ghost. The only beings that normally come in contact with them are druids and the ceatures of the forest that they reside in. Sasquatch are reclusive even amongst their own kind, a large forested region could contain two to eight sasquatch that all know one another, but will often be spread miles apart. Sasquatch are usually only found together if they are a mated pair with children, or are defending their homes.

Protectors of the Forest. Sasquatch will often roam alone unless a great threat comes upon their forested homes. If such a threat surfaces, the night is filled with forlorn wails and howls, signaling the gathering of an elusive army. A band of sasquatch will violently protect their home from any outside force until the threat is either driven out or destroyed. Their ambushes are swift and brutal. If an engagement somehow goes wrong for them, they flee into the woods and regroup. Sasquatch deeply respect the wildlife of their habitat and will care for them like a guardian or parent figure.

Creatures of Legend. There are tales told around the campfire of giant apemen in the woods that snatch common-folk at night and devour them, though this may be true, it might not be the sasquatch. Sasquatch are known by some races, namely humans, as creatures of mere legend. The older races such as Elves and Dwarves, will remember a time when the Sasquatch were more numerous, yet still recognize their existence.

Sasquatch Subspecies. The sasquatch are a very diverse species, thanks to their kind being so widely spread out and having to adapt to many different climates. A few variants of the Sasquatch family include Skunk Apes, Grassmen, Yeren, and Yowie. It is also suspeceted that Yeti are a savage offshoot of this creature.
