False Appearance. While the gargoyle remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an inanimate statue.
Magic Resistance. The gargoyle has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Innate Spellcasting. The Vantress Gargoyle is a 4th-level spellcaster. It's spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 15, +5 to hit with spell attacks). It regains all expended spell slots when it finishes a long rest. It knows the following wizard spells:
Cantrips (at will): dancing lights, message, mind sliver, minor illusion
1st level (4 slots): catapult, cause fear, comprehend languages, detect magic, fog cloud, magic missile, alarm, shield
2nd level (3 slots): arcane lock, detect thoughts, hold person, locate object
Multiattack. The gargoyle makes two attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d4 + 5) piercing damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (1d12 + 5) slashing damage.
Mind Sliver. After it has been hit by a creature, the Vantress Gargoyle can use it's reaction to cast the Mind Sliver cantrip, targeting that creature.
Description
Artificial Nature. Unlike the elemental nature of normal Gargoyles, these guardians of Vantress institutions are actually constructed from stone, metal and clay, so they are more comparable to Animated Armors or Homunculi
Telltale Look. Versed individuals seeking entrance into Vantress halls can spot a Vantress Gargoyle based on it's blue grey skin tone. The bigger giveaway however is a bronze keyhole symbol located at the center of the Gargoyles chest.
Wielders of Magic. As they are created as protective servants by the Vantress loremages and wizards, they are both equipped with and against arcane abilities. To achieve this, the Vantress build in an arcane core which has the shape of a keyhole.
