Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Zyrenna fails a saving throw, she can choose to succeed instead.
Twilight Sovereignty. Dim light and darkness within 120 feet of Zyrenna count as magical darkness. She can see through all darkness, magical or otherwise, as though it were bright light.
Fey Charm (Recharge 5-6). As a bonus action, Zyrenna can force a creature within 60 feet to make a DC 23 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature is charmed for 1 minute, or until it takes damage. While charmed, it is incapacitated and regards Zyrenna as a trusted ally to be heeded and protected.
Twilight’s Mantle. Creatures within 30 feet of Zyrenna have disadvantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed.
Regeneration. Zyrenna regains 20 hit points at the start of her turn if she has at least 1 hit point and is in dim light or darkness.
Multiattack. Zyrenna makes three attacks: two with her shadow whip and one with Withering Touch.
Shadow Whip. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target.
Hit: 27 (5d8 + 5) necrotic damage. The target must succeed on a DC 21 Strength saving throw or be pulled 10 feet closer to Zyrenna.
Withering Touch. Melee Spell Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature.
Hit: 36 (8d8) necrotic damage, and the target’s hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the creature finishes a long rest.
Twilight’s Veil (Recharge 5–6). Zyrenna surrounds herself in a 30-foot radius of swirling shadows. Creatures of her choice within the area must succeed on a DC 23 Wisdom saving throw or be blinded until the end of their next turn.
Ensnaring Whisper. Zyrenna targets one creature within 120 feet that can hear her. The creature must succeed on a DC 23 Wisdom saving throw or become charmed. While charmed, it divulges its deepest secret to Zyrenna.
Zyrenna can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time, and only at the end of another creature’s turn. She regains spent legendary actions at the start of her turn.
- Shadow Step. Zyrenna teleports up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space she can see within dim light or darkness.
- Twilight Surge (Costs 2 Actions). Zyrenna releases a pulse of shadow energy. Each creature of her choice within 30 feet must succeed on a DC 23 Constitution saving throw or take 18 (4d8) necrotic damage and be restrained by shadowy tendrils for 1 minute. A restrained creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of its turn, ending the effect on a success.
- Dark Majesty (Costs 3 Actions). Zyrenna exudes an aura of commanding dread. All creatures of her choice within 60 feet must succeed on a DC 23 Charisma saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute.

Description
Zyrenna, Queen of the Darkening, is a true embodiment of twilight’s allure and peril, a force of nature ruling her shadowed realm with enigmatic power.
Lair and Lair Actions
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Zyrenna can use a lair action to cause one of the following effects in the Darkening:
- Illusions of Gloaming. Twisting illusions fill the area in a 120-foot radius around Zyrenna. All creatures of her choice treat the area as heavily obscured until initiative count 20 on the next round.
- Living Shadows. Shadows coil and lash out at her enemies. Each creature of her choice in dim light or darkness within 60 feet must succeed on a DC 23 Strength saving throw or be grappled (escape DC 21).
- Haunting Whispers. Disembodied voices murmur secrets to intruders. Each creature Zyrenna chooses within 120 feet must succeed on a DC 23 Wisdom saving throw or take 14 (4d6) psychic damage and have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks until initiative count 20 on the next round.
