Slippery. Any check made to grapple or restrain the Flornian has disadvantage.
Spider Climb. The Flornian can climb along walls, trees, and even on ceilings, without needing to make an Athletics check.
Amphibious. The Flornian can breathe air and water.
Rocket Forth. The Flornian leaps 30 feet in any direction. If a creature is in the way, that creature must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. If it succeeds, it dodges the Flornian and the Flornian continues on the same trajectory. If it fails, the Flornian makes a Bite attack against the creature with advantage on the attack roll. If it hits, the Flornian can grapple the target. While the target is grappled, the Flornian has advantage on attack rolls against the target, and can't use its bite attack. The Flornian can Rocket Forth from a grappled creature, if it so desires. If the bite attack misses or the Flornian chooses not to grapple the creature, it falls to the ground 5 feet in front of the creature that was hit.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage.
Description
Flornians are small, amphibian creatures that live in large colonies. They can be found in swamps, jungles, and other wooded, moist areas. Most Flornians live on the Material Plane, but humongous colonies of them can be found on the Plane Of Ooze between the Elemental Planes of Water and Earth.
A Flornian resembles a large axolotl with pointy teeth and beady green eyes. It boasts a spiked frill that is usually retracted, but pops out when the Flornian wants to look more intimidating.
Flornians live in colonies of 20-30 individual Flornians of various colors. Flornians mostly eat fish, but enjoy a leafy snack once in a while. Once a colony of Flornians depletes their territory of food, the colony moves on. When two different colonies meet, they combine into a single, larger colony. This behavior sometimes leads to "supercolonies" consisting of hundreds of Flornians. However, these are quite rare.
When Flornians are forced into aggression, or when they are protecting their eggs, they leap at their enemies in a frenzy of sharp teeth. This has given them the nickname "leapers".
Flornians come in a variety of colors. The yellow ones are the strongest, the blue ones are the fastest, and the red ones have poisonous teeth. When two Flornians of different colors breed, the resulting eggs hatch Flornians that are a mix of these two colors. For example, if a blue Flornian and a red Flornian breed, the resulting Flornian babies will be purple in color, be faster than normal, and have poisonous teeth. A yellow Flornian and a blue Flornian would make fast and strong green Flornians. This mixing only works with blue, yellow, and red Flornians, so if a green Flornian and an orange Flornian breed, the result would either be green Flornians or orange Flornians.
