Rose-Tinted Aura (Recharge 5-6)

Amator emits a magical aura of charm and euphoria in a 30-foot radius for 1 minute. Each creature of his choice in the area must make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or become charmed for the duration. While charmed, creatures are overcome by obsessive, irrational love for a target of Amator’s choice, treating them as their beloved.

While under this effect:

  • They cannot willingly harm their "beloved."
  • They will attack anyone who harms or threatens their "beloved."

A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of their turn, ending the effect on a success.

Twisted Love Arrows (Recharge 5-6)

Amator fires an enchanted arrow from his magical bow. Choose one of the following effects:

  • Binding Arrow: A creature hit by the arrow must make a DC 17 Strength saving throw or be restrained for 1 minute. While restrained, they are compelled to "cling" to another nearby creature (if available), imposing disadvantage on attacks and saving throws against them.
  • Obsession Arrow: A creature hit by the arrow must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or become obsessed with Amator for 1 minute, targeting him exclusively with their actions and following him if he moves away.
Actions

Multiattack

Amator makes two attacks with his Heartpiercer Bow or casts one spell and makes one melee attack.

Heartpiercer Bow (Weapon Attack)

Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target.
Hit: 15 (3d6 + 4) piercing damage + 9 (2d8) radiant damage. On a critical hit, the target must make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or be paralyzed by overwhelming emotions until the end of their next turn.

Radiant Whip (Melee Weapon Attack)

Reach Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 10 ft., one target.
Hit: 12 (2d8 + 3) radiant damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or be grappled.

Spells

At Will: Detect Good and Evil, Invisibilty (only self), Minor Illusion

2 times in a Day: Conjure Volley

Legendary Actions

Amator can take up to 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn.

  • Flicker of Love: Amator teleports up to 30 feet to a location he can see.
  • Charming Gaze: Amator targets one creature within 30 feet. They must make a DC 15 (19 with mirror intact) Charisma saving throw or be charmed until the end of their next turn.
  • Summon Roses (Costs 2 Actions): Amator causes magical roses to sprout in a 15-foot radius within 60 feet. The area becomes difficult terrain, and creatures in the area must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take 7 (2d6) piercing damage as thorns lash out.

Description

The Enchanted Mirror

The Mirror of Eternal Devotion is a massive, ornate mirror positioned at the far end of it's lair. Its frame is gilded with twisting rose vines, and its reflective surface ripples with otherworldly magic. This artifact is the source of Amator’s enhanced abilities and his connection to his corrupted magic.

Mirror Features

  • Size: 15 feet tall and 8 feet wide, firmly rooted in the garden’s ground.

  • AC: 15

  • HP: 60 (immune to psychic damage; resistant to slashing damage)

  • Saving Throws: Dex +5, Wis +7

  • Aura of Amplification: While the mirror remains intact, Amator gains the following benefits:

    1. Spell Empowerment: Amator’s spell save DC increases to 19, and he gains an additional 1d6 damage on all spell effects that deal damage.
    2. Healing Pulse: At the start of each of his turns, Amator regains 10 HP if the mirror is intact.
    3. Lair Action Recharge: Amator can use the same lair action on consecutive turns while the mirror is intact.
  • Reflection of Fear: At the start of every round, the mirror emits a wave of illusory magic. All creatures in the lair (except Amator and his summoned allies) must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the end of their next turn.

Destroying the Mirror

If the players destroy the mirror to weaken Amator and stop the garden’s hostile magic. Once destroyed:

  • Amator Loses His Enhancements: His spell save DC drops to 15, he no longer regains HP, and his lair actions can only be used once every two rounds.
  • The Roses Begin to Wither: The magical roses lose their potency, negating effects such as the Rose Thorn Snare or Enchanted Petals.

Lair and Lair Actions

While Amator is in his lair, he can use lair actions to manipulate the environment. On initiative count 20 (losing ties), Amator takes one of the following lair actions. He cannot use the same lair action two rounds in a row.

Rose Thorn Snare

Roses erupt from the ground in a 20-foot radius centered on a point within 60 feet. Creatures in the area must make a DC 15 (19 with mirror intact) Strength saving throw or become restrained for 1 minute. A creature restrained by the roses takes 7 (2d6) piercing damage at the start of its turn. The creature can use its action to make another Strength saving throw to escape.

Bloom of Confusion

A magical pollen spreads throughout the area, forcing creatures within 30 feet of Amator to make a DC 15 (19 with mirror intact) Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, creatures are blinded for 1 minute and must roll a d8 to determine the direction of their movement on their turn. Affected creatures can repeat the saving throw at the end of their turns to end the effect.

Enchanted Petals

A magical gust of rose petals swirls through the garden, filling the area in a 30-foot radius around Amator. Creatures in the area must make a DC 15 (19 with mirror intact) Dexterity saving throw or be blinded for 1 minute. Amator and his allies gain half cover while in the swirling petals, and any ranged attacks targeting creatures within the petals have disadvantage.
