Traits

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Odraza fails a saving throw, she can choose to succeed instead.

Innate Spellcasting. Odraza's spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 20, +11 to hit with spell attacks). She can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
1st level (4 slots):, charm person, , hex*, sleep
2nd level (3 slots): blur*, detect thoughts*, hold person*, mirror imageray of enfeeblement
3rd level (3 slots): counterspell
4th level (3 slots): banishment*, blight
5th level (2 slots): dominate person*,moonbeam* (upcast), telekinesis
6th level (1 slot): eyebite*
7th level (1 slot): sleep (upcast)
8th level (1 slot): demiplane*
9th level (1 slot): weird*

Magic Resistance. Odraza has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Mirror Magic. Odraza can concentrate on up to three spells at once, can take up to three reactions per round, and can restrain up to three creatures at a time using Echoes of the Coven; the maximum for all of these is equal to the number of intact mirrors in her cottage. Each mirror has an AC of 13, 20 hit points, is resistant to damage from spells and magical effects, and is vulnerable to bludgeoning damage. A shatter spell instantly destroys any mirror caught in its area of effect. If a mirror is targeted by a spell, roll a d4; on a roll of 1, the spell targets the caster instead, and the mirror is unaffected.
Whenever one of her mirrors is destroyed, Odraza suffers 1d10 psychic damage and cannot use her Legendary Resistance trait until the start of her next turn.

Regeneration. Odraza regains 15 hit points at the start of her turn. Odraza only dies if she starts her turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.
If any of her mirrors take damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of Odraza's next turn.

Spider Climb. Odraza can climb difficult surfaces, including along ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Actions

Multiattack. Odraza makes three Claw attacks.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (3d6 + 5) slashing damage. A target restrained by Echoes of the Coven takes an additional 9 (2d8) psychic damage on a hit.

Invisible Passage. Odraza magically turns invisible until she attacks or casts a spell, or until her concentration ends (as if concentrating on a spell). While invisible, she leaves no physical evidence of her passage, so she can be tracked only by magic. Any equipment she wears or carries is invisible with her.

Bonus Actions

Hall of Mirrors. In a swirl of rippling moonlight, Odraza passes through a mirror she can touch and into her Demiplane, becoming intangible until she reemerges at the start of one of her subsequent turns. While intangible:

  • Odraza can be seen within all remaining mirrors, her image distorted and shifting, but she cannot be targeted or harmed.
  • Odraza can still use any available lair actions and legendary actions, and can cast spells through her mirrors as though she were present in the cottage.

If Odraza is still in her Demiplane when the last remaining mirror is destroyed, she is ejected into an unoccupied space within 5ft of it and cannot take reactions until the start of her next turn.

Reactions

Matriarch's Fury. Odraza makes one Claw attack against a creature that deals damage to her daughter, moving up to half her speed in order to do so; this movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

Legendary Actions

Odraza can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Odraza regains spent legendary actions at the start of her turn.

Dreadful Laughter: Odraza cackles with sadistic glee, forcing all creatures within 30 feet to make a DC17 Wisdom saving throw or have disadvantage on their next attack roll or saving throw.

Cast a Spell (Costs 2 Actions). Odraza uses her Innate Spellcasting ability.

Mend Mirror (Costs 2 Actions, Recharge 5-6). Odraza magically reconstructs and regains use of one of the mirrors in her lair.

Description

To most who have heard of her, Prabaka Odraza is known only as the Crone of the Crossroads. She is the product of a coven of grandmother hags who, during centuries of imprisonment at the hands of the Moonweaver, ate each other alive and amalgamated into an unprecedented being: a great-grandmother.
The spirits of the original coven are bound to the mirrors within Odraza's cottage, which itself exists sealed within a pocket dimension between the Material plane and the Feywild.
While within the cottage, Odraza can draw upon the combined powers of the coven to work strange and terrible magics.

Wishes and Woe. Beware, those desperate enough to seek the Crone, for she knows all that you desire and in her wickedness knows also how to turn those desires against you. The tincture Odraza grants to imbue a guest's wish with power also binds them to her, so that she might feed on the poor fool's despair when the price comes due.

Hags' Feast. Those who enter Odraza's cottage are greeted with a feast of blackberries, honeycomb, mead-dipped bread, smoked venison, and pomegranate seeds. Creatures invited to partake must make a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw upon consuming the feast. On a failure, they are subject to the following effects for 24 hours.

  • The creature gains 2d10 temporary hit points, but cannot regain hit points by any means.
  • The creature is bound by the laws of fey hospitality not to harm Odraza or her domain, as if by the Geas spell.

A creature that partakes of the feast without invitation automatically fails its saving throw, is poisoned for 1 hour, and suffers one of the following curses at random; these effects can only be lifted by a greater restoration or remove curse spell.

  • Denial of Passage. The creature is unable to leave the Crossing unless explicitly permitted by Odraza.
  • Eyes of the Crone. The creature’s eyes turn milky white, allowing Odraza to see through their vision until the curse is lifted.
  • Hollow Hunger. The creature feels insatiable hunger, taking 1d6 psychic damage every hour they do not eat or drink. Whenever the creature attempts to take a long rest, this hunger thwarts its attempts to sleep until it succeeds on a DC17 Wisdom saving throw.
  • Weight of Obligation. The creature cannot refuse a direct request from Odraza without suffering 5d10 psychic damage.

A creature that declines Odraza's invitation suffers either Hollow Hunger or Denial of Passage, at the DM's discretion, until they accept or have the curse removed.

Lair and Lair Actions

Prabaka Odraza lives within a pocket plane tucked between the Material and the Feywild, imprisoned there by the Moonweaver. In the centuries since her imprisonment, however, Odraza has made the Crossing into an axis of powerful and strange magics. Her cottage is her domain, and through mirror magic she is able to not only amplify her own abilities, but access those of the coven she consumed long ago.

Lair Actions

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Odraza takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; she can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • Capture Reflection. Odraza waves a hand, pulling one of her mirrors through the air towards a creature that has offended her. The creature must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is trapped in a Demiplane within the mirror. The creature can only escape if that mirror is destroyed, or if they succeed a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw, which they can make at the end of each of their turns until they are freed; as long as Odraza is concentrating on a spell, a trapped creature has advantage on this saving throw. While trapped, the creature can see through the mirror like a window, but cannot target creatures or objects outside the Demiplane. If the mirror is destroyed, the trapped creature reappears in the nearest unoccupied space to the shattered shard.
  • Echoes of the Coven. A shadowed claw reaches out from one of the mirrors within Odraza's cottage, targeting a creature within 5 feet of it. The target must succeed on a DC 17 Strength saving throw or be grappled and restrained by the ghostly limb. A creature can be freed if it or another creature takes an action to make a DC 17 Strength check and succeeds.
  • Matriarch's Mirage. Odraza causes the space around her to shift and ripple hypnotically. The pattern appears for a moment and vanishes. Each hostile creature within Odraza's lair who sees the pattern must make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature becomes charmed for 1 minute. While charmed by this effect, the creature is incapacitated and has a speed of 0. The effect ends early for a creature if it takes any damage or if someone else uses an action to shake the creature out of its stupor. This effect requires Odraza to concentrate, as if concentrating on a spell, and ends early if her concentration is broken.
