Innate Spellcasting. The zovvut's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 14). The zovvut can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: darkness, detect thoughts
3/day each: suggestion, detect evil and good, clairvoyance
1/day: plane shift
Draining Gaze. When a creature that can see the zovvut’s eyes starts its turn within 30 feet of the zovvut, the zovvut can force it to make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw if the zovvut isn’t incapacitated and can see the creature. On a failure, the creature's hit point maximum is reduced by 10, and the zovvut gains temporary hit points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0. A creature that dies to this immediately rises back from the dead as a wight under the zovvut's control.
Unless [Tooltip Not Found], a creature can avert its eyes to avoid the saving throw at the start of its turn. If the creature does so, it can’t see the zovvut until the start of its next turn, when it can avert its eyes again. If the creature looks at the zovvut in the meantime, it must immediately make the save.
Multiattack. The zovvut makes two claw attacks.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (3d10 + 3) slashing damage.
