Camouflaged Form. Bloodsacs blend seamlessly with the night sky. Creatures attempting to detect them suffer a -2 penalty to their Wisdom (Perception) checks, and they have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks in dim light or darkness.
Surprise Attack. Bloodsacs often attack from behind. If a bloodsac surprises a creature, it has advantage on its first attack roll.
Weightless in the Void. Bloodsacs collapse into inert, sluggish heaps if exposed to gravity. On a planet or within a strong gravitational field, their speed is halved, and they lose their fly speed.
Multiattack. The bloodsac makes one Bore Attack and uses Brain Drain if a target is grappled.
Bore Attack. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 14 (2d10 + 3) piercing damage, and the bloodsac attaches itself to the target. While attached, the bloodsac deals 14 (2d10 + 3) necrotic damage at the start of each of the target’s turns. Removing the bloodsac requires a successful DC 15 Strength (Athletics) check. When forcibly removed, the target takes an additional 7 (2d6) necrotic damage.
Brain Drain. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature grappled by the bloodsac. Hit: The bloodsac deals 22 (4d10) psychic damage as it extracts the target's brain fluids. If this reduces the target to 0 hit points, the bloodsac gains the target’s memories for 24 hours. During this time, the bloodsac can perfectly mimic the victim’s speech patterns and surface-level knowledge.
Egg Implantation (1/Day). If the bloodsac has killed a creature, it may lay a clutch of eggs within the body. These eggs hatch after 1d6 days, releasing 3 1d6 juvenile bloodsacs.
Description
Bloodsacs are terrifying parasites that drift through wildspace, seeking warm-blooded prey. Their translucent, star-speckled bodies make them nearly invisible against the dark void. Their feeding methods are particularly gruesome, draining victims of blood and brain fluids to sustain their existence.
Reproduction. Bloodsacs reproduce by implanting eggs into their victims, ensuring a new swarm is ready to terrorize the void.
Mind Flayer Interest. Mind flayers are known to use trained bloodsacs as vicious symbiotic tools, enhancing their hunting capabilities with these alien predators.
