Description

Webbles are small plant creatures with bark-like skin, adorned with vines and flowers that grow naturally from their bodies. Often found in the fey realm, they also make their homes in the forests of the Material Plane. Webbles are naturally shy, preferring to stay hidden from other creatures to avoid potential threats.

Although generally harmless, webbles are notorious for steaking small trinkets, jewelry, and other shiny items. Travelers familiar with webble territory often carry decoy trinkets in plain view, hoping to distract the mischievous creatures and protect their valuable belongings. Webble families reside in a larger, older tree called a Home Tree, which is adorned with stolen items. Some of the oldest Home Trees boast hundreds of such decorations.

Webbles are experts at hiding, especially in dense forests, and they use this skill to their advantage when searching for things to steal. Rather than engaging in conflict, webbles rely on their stealth to quietly snatch shiny belongings from unsuspecting travelers, hoping the theft foes unnoticed until the travelers have long passed beyond the webble's territory.
