Magic Resistance. The Void Sprite has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Detect Thoughts. The Void Sprite can read minds as detailed in the detect thoughts spell. Its spell save DC for this effect is 13.
See Invisibilty. The Void Sprite can see invisible creatures within 30 feet of itself.
Change Shape. The Void Sprite takes the form of a nonmagical beast that is small or tiny. It keeps its hover speed, traits, Psychic Snap action, and ability scores, but its actions and other movement speeds change to match the new form.
Psychic Snap. The Void Sprite targets one creature within 30 feet of it. That creature must make a DC 13 Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 11 (4d4 + 3) Psychic damage and must subtract 1d6 from its next saving throw. On a successful save, a creature will take half as much damage only.
Retaliate. Whenever the Void Sprite or its owner (if it has one) takes damage from a creature it can see, the Void Sprite can use a reaction to deal 1d4 psychic damage to the attacking creature and force it to make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is charmed or frightened (Sprite's choice) by the Sprite or its owner (whichever was attacked) until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, the creature still takes the damage, but suffers no additional effects.
Description
Native beings to the void, Void Sprites are curious, often innocent creatures that are naturally drawn to the planes to sate this insatiable curiosity and wonder. Most often spawned as a byproduct of a void deity's immense power, Void Sprites will often carry a fraction of their deity's psionic power, and sparks of their personality driving what their curiosity is focused on. Voidic patrons have been known to spawn and grant Void Sprites to followers and pact-makers as a gift- either out of genuine goodwill or to spy on and control them.
Due to their curious and intelligent nature alongside varying, moldable personality, Void Sprites are commonly sought as familiars by scholars, Wizards, and anyone interested in the occult and eldritch.
