Amphibious. Bavlorna can breathe air and water.
Boon of Immortality. Bavlorna is immune to any effect that would age her, and she can't die from old age.
Burning Ears. When a creature in the same plane of existence as Bavlorna says her name (Bavlorna or Lorna) while thinking of her, Bavlorna is aware of it happening, unless the creature is protected from divination magic. If the creature is within a mile
of her when it says her name, Bavlorna also becomes aware of its location at that moment. She gains no further insight about creatures that alert her in this way, but is able to differentiate between them and may target such a creature with scrying as if
she had heard of it.
Standing Leap. Bavlorna’s long jump is up to 30 feet and her high jump is up to 20 feet, with or without a running start.
Spider Climb. Bavlorna can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Widdershins Allergy. If a creature within 10 feet of Bavlorna uses at least 10 feet of movement to run in place counterclockwise, Bavlorna is overcome by a fit of sneezing and can't cast spells until the end of her next turn. In addition, any creature Bavlorna has swallowed is immediately expelled and falls prone in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of her.
Multiattack. Bavlorna makes one Bite attack and one Withering Ray or Staff attack.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) piercing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC16) if it is a Medium or smaller creature. Until the grapple ends, the target is restrained, and Bavlorna can't use her Bite
attack on another target or perform the verbal components of spells.
Staff. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage or 9 (1d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage if used with two hands. Once per turn, Bavlorna can cause this attack to deal an additional 2d4 slashing damage as
shards of glass assail a target.
Withering Ray. Ranged Spell Attack: +6 to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) necrotic damage, and a creature is cursed for 10 minutes. The first time a cursed creature would magically regain hit points, it doesn’t, and the curse ends on it.
Create Lornlings (Recharge 5–6). Bavlorna creates one or two
1-foot-tall duplicates of herself, called lornlings. Each lornling appears in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of Bavlorna, obeys her commands, and takes its turn immediately after hers. A lornling created in this way lasts for 8 hours, until it or Bavlorna dies, or until Bavlorna dismisses it as an action. No more than eight lornlings can exist at a time.
Looking Glass Scrying (1/day). Bavlorna uses her staff to create a scrying mirror, as described in her staff’s item entry below.
Wyrd Magic. Bavlorna is a 13th-level spellcaster. Her spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 16, or 15 without her staff in hand). She regains her expended spell slots when she finishes a short or long rest. She knows the following hag spells at will: blade ward, detect magic, minor illusion, spare the dying
1st-5th level (3 5th-level slots): arcane eye, bestow curse, blight, create food and water, enervation, polymorph, remove curse, scrying, slow, lesser restoration
1/day each: eyebite, plane shift (self)
Swallow. Bavlorna magically swallows a Medium or smaller creature she is grappling, ending the grapple on it. The swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside Bavlorna, and it takes 10 (3d6) acid damage at the start of each of its turns. If the swallowed creature is one of Bavlorna's lornlings, Bavlorna gains all the lornling's memories when this damage reduces it to 0 hit points. Bavlorna can have only one creature swallowed at a time. If she dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained and can escape from the corpse using 5 feet of movement, exiting prone.
Bottled Curses. Bavlorna has 4 potions around her belt, which jingle as she moves. Each of these potions is related to 1 active curse on anyone she had previously cursed. When broken, the curse is released.
- Will of the Feywild (turned to Oni);
- Agdon Longscarf (forgot his adventuring party);
- Fiona (lost sense of touch);
- Jingle Jangle (obsession with keys).
Here and Now! When Bavlorna sees a creature within 60 feet of her use magic to teleport, she can reach out with her own magic and change the creature’s final destination to a space within 5 ft of her. The creature must then succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be incapacitated until the start of its next turn.
Here and Gone. If an enemy ends its turn within 5ft. of Bavlorna, she can use her reaction to use her movement to jump away. This movement doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks.
Bavlorna has 3 legendary action points.
Get in Mah Belly (Costs 2 Actions): Bavlorna immediately consumes a lornling within 5 feet of her, regaining hit points equal to half of its remaining hit points.
Frog Leap (Costs 1 Action): Bavlorna makes a 15-foot jump to an unoccupied space of her choosing without provoking attacks of opportunity
Lashing Tongue (Costs 3 Actions): Bavlorna whips her long, slimy tongue at a creature within 15 feet. The target must make a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be grappled (escape DC 14) and pulled 10 feet closer to her. If the target is already within 5 feet, Bavlorna can make a Bite attack against them as part of this action.
Description
SHARED SPELLS OF THE HOURGLASS COVEN
On the rare occasions when all three hags of the Hourglass Coven are within 30 feet of one another, any one of them can use an action to cast one of the following spells, requiring no material components (spell save DC 14): detect thoughts, dispel magic, finger of death, glibness, locate creature, mass suggestion
Once a spell from this list has been cast, no member of the coven can cast that shared spell again until the next dawn, when the coven regains all of its shared spells.
Lair and Lair Actions
On her first turn, Bavlorna spits into her Preservation Pool as a free action. The water within 90 feet of Bavlorna rises or falls 5 feet, making it difficult terrain for any creatures forced to move through it. On top of this, the water is acidic, causing 2d4 acid damage, every turn a creature is in it. Any metal item or wearable that falls into this pool corrodes unless it is magical.
