Posted Apr 10, 2025First of all I like the art for this one. Its decent.
Having a AC of 17 as a sword makes senses but having same hit dice as the broom...see no need to reduce it.
Love that they are fast in initiative with +4
Nothing to say against the dmg. 1 more on average is nice.
This animated object is solid.

Posted Sep 30, 2026Maybe I'm still just getting used to 2024 balance, but only 1/4 CR 50xp with 14hp, 17AC, and doing 1d8+2 seems like a lot. For a "low difficulty encounter" composed only of these against a lvl 3 party of 4 players would amount to sending 12 of these things at them. 12 attacks of 1d8+2 seems almost certain to down a party member or two even if only half of those attacks were hits (4 * (4.5 + 2) ~= 39 damage). Even assuming the party got the jump on most of them, seems unreasonable that the party would be able to take out more than 3-4 of them in their first round of attacks even with burning a couple of decent spells when the swords themselves have 17AC.
Even at just lvl 1, that would mean sending 4 of these things at a party of 4 where 1d8+2 might down some of the squishier party members from full, and the party might severely struggle to hit 17AC and are going to take 2-3 hits to finish one of these off.
