Actions
Multiattack. The druid makes two attacks, using Vine Staff or Verdant Wisp in any combination.
Vine Staff. Melee Attack Roll: +5, reach 5 ft. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) Bludgeoning damage plus 2 (1d4) Poison damage.
Verdant Wisp. Ranged Attack Roll: +5, range 90 ft. Hit: 10 (3d6) Radiant damage.
Spellcasting. The druid casts one of the following spells, using Wisdom as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 13):
At Will: Druidcraft, Speak with Animals
2/Day Each: Entangle, Thunderwave
1/Day Each: Animal Messenger, Longstrider, Moonbeam
I pity the poor low level party that accidentally tramples this Druid's Begonias. Then SURPRISE the party wizard is eating a moonbeam from 100 feet away. Wizards are great at con saves right? and 2d10 shouldn't be a problem for a level 2 wizard, right?
Then the following turn the rest of the party gets to enjoy a 60 foot moving moonbeam. (the wording of this spell needs to change in 2024)
Of course if the party breaks the druid's concentration they just have to worry about eating TWO blasts of 3d6 radiant damage each turn.
This is a TOUGH CR2.
I love the artwork. The old one was nice but this is my favourite of the 2.
For stats, 2 ac more and 17 hp! Oh and 1 WIS.
Got a very strong range option oh and he hits better than the old obe a d deals more dmg.
Overall they made a low level threat out of him. Pc should be careful how they behave in the woods
WotC proving that CR is not even a suggestion, it's a bad advise.
44hp and a potential of more than 20 damage per turn. Sure, nothing will go wrong.
I love the raccoon in the picture.
I always use druid
