Posted May 9, 2025You want to know how I made these guys terrifying? Players were traversing a swamp on their way to a black dragon lair, they rolled on the random encounter that was 15 of these guys, and I only described them as "Several V-shaped disturbances in the water moving towards you."

Posted May 14, 2025Giant centipede is size Small. Just pick it up and rip it in half.
Gained 1 AC and one hit die, increasing the health from 4(1d6+1) to 9(2d6+2).
Bite used to have a DC 11 con save against 10(3d6) poison with paralysis at 0 hit points. Now is an automatic, but temporary poisoned condition.
They nerfed the Giant centipede. Fusion must come in again.
Fusion time! Bring back the DC con save against 10(3d6) poison damage AND the poisoned condition. Simple.

Posted Aug 24, 2025I think it's absurd that a cr 1/4 creature can do 12 dmg per turn on a failed save. Thar will ko majority of lvl 1 pcs.

Posted Mar 12, 2026What if the target of the bite has poison resistance (granting resistance to poison damage and advantage on saving throws to avoid the poison condition)? Do they get a saving throw here? Or do they automatically resist the poison condition?

Posted Apr 20, 2026no, the new monsters bypass alot of features the PCs get. Like Wolves automatically knock people prone now instead of giving the PC a Strength Save. Mind Flayers automatically stun anyone they hit. Which is hilarious as they still give an escape DC . How can someone who is stunned do an escape action?! The jist is they wanted to make monsters feel more dangerous without making the DMs life more complicated with extra rolls. I just dont think that the design was well thought out as it removes player agency.

Posted Apr 26, 2026WotC needs to fix the "Giant" verbiage. A Giant Centipede is a small creature, but a Giant Scorpion is a Large creature. What the heck?! A Giant Toad is large sized but a Giant Frog is Medium??? I tbink if you use the word giant as a description it should be 2 sizes larger than normal. And use "Colossal" for 3 sizes larger. I'd also use "oversized" for 1 size larger than normal. So as these are normally tiny sized creatures, It would be "Oversized Centipede", "Colossal Scorpion", "Colossal Toad", and "Giant Frog"
