Lair and Lair Actions

Lair Actions: On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the dragon takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the dragon can't use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • Acid Surge: A 30-foot radius area around a point the dragon chooses erupts with acid. Each creature in that area must make a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw, taking 44 (8d10) acid damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
  • Shadow Tentacles: Two shadowy tentacles erupt from the ground in a 15-foot radius around a point chosen by the dragon. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw or be restrained. A restrained creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. The tentacles last until the end of the dragon's next turn.
  • Echoing Darkness: A 30-foot radius sphere of magical darkness appears in a place of the dragon's choosing. This darkness lasts for 1 minute.
